Nets tickets can quite literally be had for $1, any day of the week. If you actually wanted to go to a game, you could bum that kind of money in 5 minutes on a crowded street corner. Not going to games has nothing to do with rent money.

Let me make a timeline so you actually know what this team has done the past few years.

Why on earth would you think that you know more about what has happened the past few years than I do? You're sitting at home pretending that you can't afford to follow hoops, and I'm actually out there. Come on, I know the trade history, I know what a rebuild is. I understand that tanking is the path to a superstar in the NBA, and it landed teams MJ and Lebron. JJ, I hope your right and it does bite him in the ass.You know I'm from England and so that means I'm not going to be able to watch a Nets game live until after I graduate from university and settle down a bit as I'm like jeff, I'm a student and struggling to pay rent. Nets fans are not only the least passionate fans in the NBA, but they're twice as bad as the second worst fans. If only the author of that article knew about this thread, he could color the article by adding that Nets fans have "too much of a life" to go to games. Or they can't afford the $1 tickets because apparently you "have" to buy a stadium hotdog if you go. Maybe the Izod center is so empty and the team is leaving because NJ is the only state with fans who "live in the real world" as you guys put it?

Listen, I'm an NBA junkie. I was poor when I was in college just like everybody else, but I still took advantage of deals and found myself at a bunch of games each year, as did all my friends who are also NBA junkies. And I still take advantage of deals now, and buy floor seats for $20 at your arena while you guys sit at home and pretend it's too expensive. And you guys are acting as if the only way somebody could accomplish a feat like that is by being a privileged billionaire?

You think I don't know what you know about the Nets, because why? Because I don't post on the Nets board? Neither do you guys! You've got two week old posts on the front page!

I didn't read this whole thread, so this is more of me stating my personal views, as opposed to being a specific counter-point to any one post or poster.

I get more enjoyment from the games by watching on tv (extra replays, commentator analysis, various camera angles, my own food / snacks) than I do from going to games.

It would be idiotic of me to decrease my enjoyment over and over again (the hassle of driving, $12 parking, getting out of the damn parking deck after the game, small seats, only being able to see one angle, etc....) to actually go to the games.

The team moving to Newark or Brooklyn removes a big part of the annoyance, and thereby increases my odds of going. I still wouldn't be buying season tickets because I enjoy the actual game more in my own home anyway.

This is an entertainment. However people decide is their best way to view it is what matters.

The Nets fanbase is one of the smallest in the country to begin with. We put ourself smack dab in the center of two solidly established fanbases (Knicks and Sixers) and hoped we go snag younger kids to develop an allegiance over time. There are not many other teams that have to do the things our team does to build a fan base. Just because we're in a larger market than a lot of other teams really doesn't mean a whole lot. Case in point, even in our back to back finals years we had the lowest attendence out of ALL playoff teams those years. But the fanbase we have is loyal. Not going to games does not automatically translate into us giving up or us being bad fans. Case in point, when Boston sucked, their attendance sucked too. My girlfriend is from Boston and always talks about how she'd be offered tickets every night on the way home for free. Take into account the IZOD is not transportation friendly. The tolls to get to the stadium, $20 parking. It's an event just to get there unlike other arenas in the country who have bad teams.

I'm rambling, but don't call us disloyal fans. The 15 or so of us would take a bullet for this time.

A 7th or 9th worst team does not deserve the #1 pick over a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd worst team record wise...

Honestly, any team in the lottery deserves a shot at #1. The rule I think they should change is the one where a team can fall 3 spots at the most.

The Lottery should determine ALL 14 PICKS. so the 14th team can move up to say 10 or something.

I think the way it is now ruins it, becasue if one team falls, you automatically know that the team that was origianlly in that spot is now in the top 3.


Also lottery odds show that the the team with best odds at #1, has greater odds at #4

For someone who's been to so many Net games, you of all people should know its REALLY inconvenient to get to the Izod Center. No Mass Transit? No way to get to the arena walking? We've had problems with attendance during our Finals run. Watch how packed the stadium's gonna be if we move to Newark.
