Trade Thread

Post#1 » by Racer X » Sun Feb 7, 2010 5:40 am

Do we not have a thread specifically for trade fake trades? We definitely need one.

Here is one:
Korver, CJ for Marcus Camby.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=yzcfgpz

Jazz could even throw Kosta in for good measure.

Korver is expiring so LA still can clear some cap, plus they get a little upside with CJ.

Clips have said that they will move Camby if they are not in playoff position, which I believe they are not.

Do the Clips need a 2nd round pick?

I'm wondering if Korver is on the trading block. Last night was the second time in a week he didn't get off the bench.

Trade threads suck....then you have to sift through pages of garbage to read the ones you want to read.

Exactly, we have already been through this before where it was decided not to have trade threads. And I dont want to sift through 26 pages of "trade CJ and our second round pick for Lebron" just so that I can read one good trade idea.

Having a single thread is better than having 30 threads on the front page with titles like:

ORL/UTA trade IdeA
Boozer 4 D Howard
Stephen Jackson anyone?

Give me a break.

I disagree. The dumb trades fall off the front page pretty quickly, the ones that generate discussion stick around. With one thread it's much harder to have that sort of filter.

The bottom of the page isn't that new of topics. As long as the page isn't filled with 1 or 2 response threads things are going ok as it is.

But any who, Camby keeps getting talked about, he keeps getting older. He might be a decent one year rental, but I'd pass. CJ is infuriating, but he's not worthless.

On that note, I would absolutely do this deal. Free's us of ~$4MM on CJ next year and we already lose ~$5MM on Korver. Could give us enough to possibly re-sign Boozer and stay under the luxury tax. Camby would be a good rental for 1 year to possibly help with a playoff push. But I highly doubt LA does this. They could get alot more than CJ and Korver.

All the Jazz designated shooters for a veteran center... mmm.... we have been winnimg games because Jazz shots are falling... with this roster we have is the fluid offense what feeds the defense...

On the other hand.... Jazz should sign another 10 day contract... may be KOC can find a D-Leaguer that beats the Lakers with the last shot of the game and then goes on finnishing games ahead of a bunch of millions sitting in the bench.... thinking on it I like this part...

Would you guys do Okur, the NYK 1st, Korver and Miles for Ray Allen, Eddie House, Sheldon Williams and filler?

I woudln't love it. Any trade that involves the pick makes me uncomfortable.

Any trade that involves the pick for an expiring and declining Ray Allen makes me uncomfortable.

I like the fact that Allen is expiring and I think he'd help the team a lot. The pick is just asking too much.

I'm not very familiar with NBA trade rules
but
D-Will adn D-Wade in Utah?
who should Utah send to Miami for Wade?
Boozer, Korver and Brewer is enough?

D-Will/Price/Gaines
D-Wade/Matthews
AK/CJ
Millsap/Okur/AK
Okur/Fesenko/Koufos

If I made fool of myself - sorry
:)

Does anyone here really believe the FO is going to make a deadline move at this point? With the team playing as well as they are, I think it's a good excuse as any (at least to them) to stand pat.
