Would trading Chucker Wallace achieve anything?
What type of deals can the Celtics pull of if they offer up Chucker Wallace?
He's out of shape,
doesn't show on the pick and roll,
and doesn't roll to cover on the back door plays or from the weakside,
doesn't establish himself on the block,
is lazy at the 3 point line and flings it up rather than pass.
Can this guy do any good in a trade?
Or are the Celtics stuck with him?

Yes. Ainge needs to try to do anything he can to trade Wallace before the deadline. The Rashee Wallace experiment in Boston hasn't worked. They brought him here to spread the floor, a.k.a. the James Posey role. Wallace can't rebound, defend, or hit the 3's on a regular basis.
Wallace scored a combined 5 points vs the Lakers and the Magic.

Re: Would trading Chucker Wallace achieve anything?
Why would any other team in the league trade for him? We're stuck with the majority of this roster, so they're just gonna have to step up or go drown with the ship.

Who would take him?
I still think Sheed can help this team but he shouldn`t be allowed to shoot jumpers...
He isn`t the main problem. Our "big 3" can`t carry this team anymore, don`t blame the results on a role players...

+1
Although this may be true for most of the losses,
other than Eddie House, there is not a single shooter on the bench.
That's Danny's fault.

Re: Would trading Chucker Wallace achieve anything?
With the 2.5 years remaining on his contract, I doubt there would be much of a market. When he was acquired, I thought he was a good fit assuming they were going to re-sign Powe. When they didn't re-sign Leon, I was sure Doc intended to run an inverse offense with more slashing wings, which has not been the case. And the last thing I hoped was that they would trade him after his second season for a team looking for that last veteran piece to help Ainge retool. I hope I at least go 1 for 3.

What bothers me most about Wallace is when he waives his hands at defenders and is slow to rotate. The missed 3's are not a surprise.
He's a 20 mpg guy.

Don't blame players for being on the team and the role they play on that team...
There's a person who got them on the team, and a person who decides who plays how many minutes and what style they play during those minutes. Someone who was good at the latter would adjust when things weren't going well.
Doc's stubborn coaching method is a big problem not only with Sheed, but also with Ray Allen's minutes, his tendency to take Eddie out as soon as he starts making shots when he's well known to be an extremely streaky shooter, his position on offensive rebounding, i could go on.

This. Not to mention the fact that the OP and quite a few others seem misinformed about what Sheed was bringing to Boston when he signed with us. The guy has been playing like this for the past few years, what did people honestly expect? Then again, he could just be conserving energy till the post-season run. Either way I don't see him going anywhere else anytime soon.

Dallas would like him as a backup big man. Eddie Najera, JJ Barea for Wallace, 2nd?

We'll talk in a year and a half for Matt Carroll, Najera, and a pick.

Re: Would trading Chucker Wallace achieve anything?
Trade him to the Lakers for anyone just to make them suck worse like he makes the C's suck. He has to be one of the least productive players they could possible get. Can Sheldon possibly be worse? He can't average 2 rebounds and 4 fouls while going like 1-7 or something consistently. I think he can.

Well he was really only playing like this last year, and most people were hioping/praying that it was just an attitude thing not commmentary on his skill diminshing and he would start working now that he was on a contender. To be honest, if Rasheed busted his ass and got in shape, I think he could be a contributor. But he is a lazy POS so we are stuck.
