well after like 3 weeks of inactivity (felt like 2 months) the Miami Heat and New Jersey Nets have a deal to announce.....

The Heat will send
A.Morrison - $5,257,229
S.Ibaka - $1,120,200 total= $6,377,429
Tor 2010 1st (top 14 protected)
* if for some reason the Tor pick is not able to be used in 2010, Miami will also send the N.O. 2010 2nd as additional compinsation

to NJ for

T.Hassel - $4,350,000
Luc Richard Mbah a moute - $736,420
totals: $5,086,420 x 1.25% + 100,000 = $6,458,025 > $6,377,429

Well this is the 3rd team I have tryed to get LRMaM from and finally have got him. I think I am paying too much, but like his game, and think he is a great fit for what I want to do here in Miami. The deal also cuts a few dollars off our payroll which ownership loves

The nets accept. We like what luc brought to the team and planed on keeping him but we felt that ibaka is a similar talent that is younger and a big. Plus we also got a 10 first.

Phoenix Suns and Utah Jazz have trade to announce.

Phoenix Trade:

SF - Richard Jefferson - $14,200,000
SF - Austin Daye - $1,677,840
SG - Dahntay Jones - $2,500,000
PG - Royal Ivey - $1,050,000

= Total Outgoing = $19,427,840

Utah Trade:

SG/F - Tracy McGrady - $22,483,124
SG/F - Wesley Matthews - $457,588

= Total Outgoing = $22,940,712

$19,427,840 x 1.25 + $100k = $24,384,800 - the deal works!

Why for Phoenix? We have plenty of depth at the SF position but little talent at the SG position. Bringing in Matthews and T-Mac gives us 2 natural shooting guards, and Matthews is a talent I'm particularly exited to be adding. It hurts to lose Daye and Jones in particular, but this fits with my long term plans.

Phoenix Accepts

The Jazz accept, it hurts to lose Matthews but we get value for T-Mac and save money this year.

Carlos Arroyo signs with Portland for the Minimum. Several emails about him but this was the first one I received if you are wondering why you did not get him.

in the rules

6. Signing MIN contract players. Send me an email Arkavious989@hotmail.com. I will announce it and email you back, I will have to keep a separate list of these to know who is gone and who is not. Players can only be signed from the dleague. No players from europe are eligible until the offseason.

thats why the rule was made this way so i didnt have 100 people claiming the player in this thread.

The Orlando Magic and Washington Wizards have agreed to the following:

Orlando sends:

Marvin Williams - 7,500,000
Delonte West - 4,254,250
2010 Orl 2nd
2011 Portland 1st
Total: 11,754,250
for

Caron Butler - 9,780,970

9,780,970 x 1.25 = 12226212.5 > 11,754,250

Deal Works

While we'll miss the younger Marvin Williams and the savvy Delonte, we're excited to add someone like Butler to our team. He gives us solid scoring at the 3 and leadership as well. Magic accept!

Deal 2

Washington sends:

Jason Kapono - 6,212,960

for Orlando's TPE.

We need more shooting and we get it in Kapono. Magic accept

That rule implies you're only talking about D-League players, hence the "players can only be signed from the dleague". At no point does it mention players who have been waived! I was only going by what several other people have done in this topic before me, it's my first time playing this game and these rules are so unclear at times.

Sorry for the inconvenience, updated the rule in this thread. The rule is also posted in the main rules list in the Discussion thread

12. Waived players can be claimed by emailing me, I will email you back and post in the trades thread if you are able to sign them. Min contracts anyone can pick up. Players who are waived who are making more than the MIN can only be signed by teams that are under the cap and have enough room to pick them up. Players DO NOT clear waivers in this game. If a player was making 5 million they cannot be signed for the min. Hoever, if you look at sham Cap Exceptions section, some teams still have their Bi annual exception and their MLE. These can also be used to sign players who make more than min, but you would have to pick up their total contracts still.

Agreed. Washington hates to give up a star like Butler. While Marvin Williams is not as productive as Butler he is taller and more athletic. West is a good combo guard and the picks are a chance to give add young talent.

accepted.

We love this deal for us.... Salmons although when on point is a good player, isnt playing the greatest right now. Robinson, comming of the bench for us will be our spark plug. Also Balkmans hustle will not go unnoticed on this team. good dealing.

Milwaukee accepts. We get a young PG with a ton of potential and a 1st rounder while dumping Najera's contract, and Gay would probably cost too much to retain this summer.

Phoenix Suns and Orlando Magic have a trade to announce.

Phoenex Suns trade:

SG/F - Tracy McGrady - $22,483,124

Orlando Magic trade:

SG/SF - Josh Howard - $10,890,000
SG/PG - Leandro Barbosa - $6,600,000
SG/SF - Jason Kapono - $6,212,960

= Total = $23,702,960

Why for Phoenix? T-Mac was never going to be in our long-term plans, and undoubtedly is going to attract a silly offer from somewhere in free agency. In this deal I bring back Barbosa, a player who I'm a big fan of, and someone who can fit in my long-term plans as a combo guard. Howard also expires so I won't be taking a big cap hit next year, and despite his recent struggles I feel he can offer something as a 10th option. Kapono is the necessery evil for this trade to work, but again his contract only runs through to 2011 and I can always look to move him separately.
