But this is Whiteside's first year playing against major conference teams....this is Jordan's 4th.

FYI, I just noticed for the first time, 59 pages in, that the thread title says "Officlal," not "Official"

He does have legit size, decent athleticism, and he's gotten better on the offensive end while in college, so I guess I can't hate him too much. Plus, he'll be 24 when next season starts. I'd prefer Varnado if they went big with a later pick.

Well, Jordan is a senior while Whiteside is a freshman.....

Looks like the locals are catching on...http://www.startribune.com/sports/gophe ... c:_Yyc:aUU

I realize that, but Whiteside's being pimped as a top 4 pick, while Jordan's a late 1st rounder/early 2nd rounder. The two times he's played NBA caliber size (UNC and Tulsa) he's pulled a disappearing act. Freshman or not, that's worrisome to me. Getting bludgeoned by the UNC frontline is one thing, but Jerome Jordan treating him like a redheaded stepchild is another. It's a bad sign when a 7 footer who gets most of his points on jumpshots has more turnovers than rebounds (or in this case rebound). There's certainly potential there, but so far the hype/results ratio is a bit skewed.

I'm convinced that Greg Monroe would be a bad man as our future Small Forward.

Don't take this the wrong way, dunk, but I don't think a Timberwolves season would be complete without you wanting at least one PF/C to make an ill-advised conversion to SF.

I think our 3 firsts will let us get great value in this draft. I have guys ranked as follows:

MN Pick
Wall
Turner
Favors
Johnson
Aminu
Aldrich

CHA Pick
Henry
Monroe
Robinson
Sanders
Whiteside
Alabi

UTH Pick
Vesely
George
Harris
Varnado
Hayward
Anderson

Ideally we get 2 wings and a big. Bringing in some combination of these guys and Pekovic, along with our current players continued development, can only mean improvement next year, and continued financial flexibility going forward. I'd like to see us approach next year's trade deadline under the cap, with no bad contracts.
Steph Curry—————Ricky
Michael Jordan———Ant
Lebron James————KG
Kevin Garnett————Love
Nikola Jokic—————KAT

I'd jizz myself if we got Turner, monroe, Vesely.

I have a suspicion come draft day Vesely is gonna go higher than ppl think, especially if their are indications he can come to the nba fairly soon, regarding his buyout situation.

He's a great talent.

I'd rather take Whiteside then Monroe. The team needs more athleticism, especially if the plan is to add Pekovic, not less. I agree that Vesely won't likely be available when the draft comes around so if George declares I'd take a chance on him.

Okay, it's official. I'm now on the take Turner #1 overall bandwagon. I don't even take the risk of taking Wall and swapping. I take Turner and runaway.

Turner AND Johnson remains the dream scenario.

Turner AND George is my most hopeful, somewhat realistic scenario.

W. Johnson AND E. Williams is my worst case scenario that I can live with.

I'm with you. Wall is overrated on here, sure he may be a superstar but Turner is going to be one too most likely. It's not like we'd be passing him up for a worse player by need. They are basically equal, so take the better player right now, who is at a need.

You're right. It's not pretty, but if we take Johnson, then I think we really need a wing player with some decent handles. As much as I like Brewer these days he still loses his dribble more than any player I've ever seen.

I'm not giving up on an athletic 4/5 either. I'd prefer Sanders over Williams with our 2nd pick, but like I said, worst case scenario i can live with.

What if we got the 5th pick and ended up with Ed Davis or Aldrich? Well, I'm not sure I can live with that one.
