Pats moves
By Mike Reiss, Globe Staff November 27, 07 05:45 PM
Four Patriots moves to pass along today:

The Patriots announced that receiver Troy Brown has been activated off the physically unable to perform list.

The team waived rookie defensive lineman Kareem Brown to make room for Troy Brown.

Outside linebacker Rosevelt Colvin has been placed on season-ending injured resverve.

The team has signed veteran linebacker Chad Brown.

well i got what i wanted and old no. 80's back in the fold, unfortunately Rosies out for the year. im torn. Rosie was kinda vital, but maybe well see the newly resigned chad brown go inside and have Adalius move outside. well heres a little adversity for us.

how do you see these moves hurting or helping us?

Well, Colvin is obviously a much more impactful player than Troy Brown is these days...so it'll hurt.

I suspect we'll see quite a bit more of a 4-3 D and quite a bit more of Adalius Thomas on the outside.

Does Troy Brown really add anything? I can't imagine he does anything that Moss, Welker, Stallworth, Gaffney, Jackson and Washington can't do. Everything he could possibly do is covered by each of these guys.

Do they really need 7 wide receivers?

I agree, I dont see any need for Troy unless Welker goes down with an injury. Of course maybe hes back to play DB, since ours apparently cant cover anyone. :P

id say that yes, he does add something that ALL of those players dont have, playoff and championship experience(especially in COLD NE). id much rather see troy out there as the 4th/5th receiver than either of Jackson or Washington. Imo they will use the oh-so-popular 5-wide with Moss, Stallworth, Welker, Gaffney and Brown, just look how little they ran the ball this past week and with our rbs not exactly on top of the world, who knows what else will happen. hes a sure thing right now compared to jackson especially, and Kellys been mostly on special teams anyways.

It's cool Chad Brown is back, but I'd actaully prefer to see what Pierre Woods can do with a full-time role.

Wide receiver? Nah, he was activated to play left tackle.
