Wiretap: Chris Kaman Named All-Star Replacement

Post#1 » by loflin3hree5ive » Mon Feb 8, 2010 7:28 pm

Chris Kaman has been named by NBA Commissioner David Stern to replace injured West All-Star guard Brandon Roy (right hamstring strain) in the 2010 NBA All-Star Game in Dallas.

Kaman will be making the first All-Star appearance of his career.

Kaman was selected sixth overall in the 2003 NBA Draft. He joins fellow 2003 class members LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh in this year's game.

Good for Kaman, he has played well for most of the season. Even as a replacement it is nice to see a Clipper in the All-Star game

I figured that he had a pretty good chance of being a replacement when Brandon Roy was questionable to be in the all star game. Glad to have another Clipper on the team.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

next time we just need a true all star (not replacements), Eric Gordon going to be an all star soon.

He sure deserves it.

Brandon Roy is most likely to miss the all star game due to injury. This could be a chance for Kaman.

I'm also glad my predictions were correct :)

Congratulations to Kaman. There was a time where I never would have envisioned Chris being named to the All-Star team. He showed potential 2 years ago, but I thought that would be the closest he would get to being an all-star. This year, he has stepped his game up to another level, and I believe there is still room from improvement and growth. Will it happen? We shall see.

No, not yet. He has to say or do something about LeBron coming over first. Then we can cut him up. :D

Clips could have two All-Stars if more players from the west sit out according to Hollinger:

Several western players may not play in the All-Star Game, so we could have three or more injury replacement this week. To me Boozer has to be at the top of the hierarchy, but if they want to get a guard it should be Baron Davis. After those two my list reads (in order) Marc Gasol, Andrew Bynum, Andrei Kirilenko, Tyreke Evans, Carl Landry, Nene, Rudy Gay, and then not Ellis but Corey Maggette. In the East, Josh Smith should be first, followed by Andrew Bogut and David Lee.

I'm so happy for Kaman. He has played hard this year, and he deserves to be an all-star. I hope he can keep it up now.
