whoever said it was right, don't trade for the sake of trading.

In Ainge we trust. :D
If anyone can right this ship its him. The way this team has been playing we'd be lucky to get to the ECF. Hopefully the right trade comes along or we can remain healthy throughout the post-season.

I thought the way Doc shook Ray's hand after a terrible loss that something must be up, he should have wanted to kick everyone in the ass. Maybe he is just going to treat every game like its the last time he will coach him till the deadline.

Over on the Bulls board, there are reports that now the Bulls are willing to trade Kirk Hinrich & Tyrus for expirings. The bulls mgmt thinks they could really sign 2 major free agents. As a bulls fan, I do believe they will go all out. We all know the Bulls aint gonna win anything this year. Just get in the playoffs, and make a decent showing, this is our realistic goal. I think if Ainge can hold out long enough, Kirk can be had.The Bulls are just trying to find the best deal. Imo, Kirk, Tyrus, Salmons and maybe B Miller is gonna be gone by the trade deadline

Chicago have a good shot of landing Bosh and Wade or Lebron so that could help us. I would be happy to get Hinrich and Thomas or Salmons for our expirings without giving up Ray.

Trade imminent? Yes, that was my thought after the Magic game this past Sunday. That was bad. Something has to change. Doc can't be counted on to do what he should (bench Ray, get his minutes down, and discipline him when he goes rogue), so Danny will step in and trade away his security blanket.

Martin and Iggy seem optimistic, and I'd welcome both. More realistic is something with the Bulls. Personally, I like Ray/House for Hinrich/Salmons/Thomas. We just need a ball mover and a someone who can hit a 3 at shooting guard; Hinrich/Salmons can do that. And Thomas will give us someone to match up with the Rashard Lewis and Josh Smiths of the world.
The leaks are real...the news is fake.

I'm just here for the memes.

I'd say something is imminent. It may not be a Ray trade though Danny needs to explore every option on that front.

Two trades would be really nice. It would be nice to land Hinrich without trading Ray. Then Ray could be moved in a separate deal for a very legit 2-guard like Martin or Iggy.

How would Ray Ray and Sheldon for Kirk, Tyrus and or Salmons do?? Jokim is hurtin and we do need a big body?? You all can give Tyrus a trial run and I do believe Tyrus could use the veteran presence.Yall think Tyrus would cuss out Doc?? I dont think so. KG and PP wouldnt put up with it.Well,I think you all know what Kirk can do. He aint been shooting well, but he held D Wade to 7 of 21 shooting Sat.Thoughts? Btw............Tyrus can play spot minutes at the sf, so if you guys wanna really get defensive, You can have

pf-KG
sf-Tyrus
c-Perk
sg-PP
pg-Rondo

Now, this is just a spot line up for a few minutes, but its a big defensive lineup and Boston is known for D

I figured on D............Tyrus can do what he does best, provide the weakside help, block shots and be on the floor with veterans. I dont want to trade Tyrus, but I really believe a change would do him good. A frontcourt of KG (7-0) Perk (6-11) and Tyrus(6-10) is imposing on D

To be honest the only deal with CHI alone that makes sense is for Boston to get all 3 for Ray and filler. Salmons can give us a decent SG/SF and Hinrich a combo guard. Then they have Thomas to match up with and find out what is up with the kid but at the moment he has no more value in a deal than an expiring contract. You have to wonder if his agent or whoever have told him to shoot his way out of town because he is going to get left out in the cold by the Bulls this winter and they don't seem motivated to let him play his way out as they are looking to move other pieces.

It strips the Bulls but they get the best player back and can probably find a way to keep him if they are able to acquire some superstars. Obviously they can have just about anyone on the bench back that they want, we would have too many rotation players. I don't know if uniting Thomas and Davis is a good thing or bad thing at this point but under the circumstances it can't hurt. We would simply be overcoming are lack of quality with quantity but it may be the only thing we can do and it is pretty good quantity.

My guess is that we are more trying to get the Kings to take the Hinrich/Thomas package and Boston gets Martin/Nocioni and Chicago gets Ray. Hinrich would be a starter for the Kings and excellent pair with Evans and while Thomas is no center he is a talented defender/rebounder with upside. Maybe there is enough salary moving around they can expand the deal and take on Dalembert and pick a couple of firsts from Boston and PHI and come out of this thing looking like this:

PG - Hinrich
SG - Evans
SF - Jason Thompson
PF - Tyrus Thomas
C - Dalembert

They would probably start Garcia instead of Thomas or Thompson for some shooting.

The three way with Sac has merit since Martin is the best player, however Boston fans should be wary of Noce. His skills have seriously eroded over the last 2 years. He's no longer that good of a shooter and he's too slow to defend most 3's. $6MM for the next two years after this may be a lot since that needs to be doubled. Celtics already have a semi-wasted player in Wallace for the next three years.

Team Needs

1. Athleticism
2. Backup point guard
3. Backup small forward
4. To trade Ray Allen

I'm hoping that there won't be just one trade, but two. One which sends Ray out and brings in a younger replacement. Another which solidifies the bench, because our bench sucks. It is OK at the 4 and 5 spots, but terrible at the other three. These guys just don't fit in with the kind of ball that we need to play, IMO. I'd rather that we had two guys between the 1 through 3 spots who had some game, and were useful night in and night out.
