Another center?

It really doesn't make any sense, but if it's true would it mean that we have something in place for TC or Nazzy to be moved out?

To me it smacks of one of those "well, he played at UNC so I guess the Bobcats would be interested in him" things.

It has to be Diop or Nazr because TC cannot be traded right now (trade restriction).

I don't think that's correct. We've had him for over 6 months now, he's not BYC or PPP and the only restrictions I can think of is the 3 month thing...but even that doesn't count so long as he's the only one going out.

What restriction are you thinking of?

This trade doesn't make sense for either team. Haywood is an expiring so the Wizards would want something valuable back to take on 2011+ salary commitments and why would we trade something valuable for a position that Nazr+TC should be able to perform as well as Haywood. I can't imagine we'd field a unit with Haywood and TC on the court. TC played PF with the Bulls but we'd be in danger of some 60 point games if those two played significant minutes together.

Suggestion from the Wiz board:

Wizards trade: Jamison, Haywood, and Boykins
Bobcats trade: Chandler, Augustin, and Law

I'd do that. It'd give us a couple mill of breathing room for next season and Jamison's last year would hit us when salary isn't such a big issue.

Per the ESPN trade machine it'd give us 9 extra wins (and that's without the Midget).

Naz for Haywood? Mohammed has a year left on his deal, so Washington turns an expiring contract into another year of quality center play and we have to deal with resigning a player? Maybe they would make us take on Stevenson (he has a 4m po he's going to activate)? Chandler for Haywood and Stevenson works, but I don't think they're so desperate to get out from Deshawn's deal...

Please explain. In his final year Wallace, Jackson and Diaw are all making at least 9m with Gana at 7m and Ray at whatever he gets re-signed to.

Why would we trade Nazr for Haywood...esp. if we're taking on a bad deal like Stevenson?

Mainly because both Boris & Jamison would be approx 24 million in expirings and the tax isn't calculated until the end of the season. It won't be as big an issue in comparison to next season where we're at 59 million with only 10 players.

Of course that might be our "out" next season as well with TC's expiring.

Haywood is probably the most underrated center in the league...I was hoping we could trade Okafor for him last season.

Haywood is like a Nazr who can play 35 minutes and play reasonably good D. He'd be a great center combo with Nazr.

As for the Wiz/Bobcats trade, hell ya I would do it. Diaw gets to ride the pine until he improves...Felton/Jackson/Wallace/Jamison/Haywood would be a great starting 5 for Larry Brown.

Haywood is better than Mohammed.

So, salary isn't such a big issue because we'd maybe be able to sell them off before the end of the season as expirings? That seems like a longshot for Diaw... especially if this is the lockout season.

I don't see the Bobcats making any moves while the ownership situation is in limbo.

If we can do the trade Spectre_ suggests I think we would be able to fight for the 4th or 3rd seed in the playoffs, from my point of view that Felton/Jackson/Wallace/Jamison/Haywood is one of the best starting five in the league...And we would have Nazr,Flip and Diaw...

If that opportunity comes I don´t think money would be a factor,if you want benefits you have to risk...Of course I don´t spend that money so I don´t know the owner´s point of view but you have a great opportunity to make your team take the next step.

Compared to next season? Yes.

Since you're bringing up the "possible" lockout...maybe they'll also do the amnesty thing with a bad contract? I also think that the owners are proposing to adjust current salaries to conform with the new CBA.

There's as many positive possibilities for the team in regards to the team salary as there are negatives.

In regards to Haywood...they brings different things. If anything I'd look to add him to Nazr vs replacing him (which is why I like the WIz idea. This board should love the idea of moving TC).

So long as we have 2 wings and such a limited C on the roster getting paid what they are our salary is never going to be "rosy".

I dunno...do you think that if we happened to trade DJ or Henderson Postolos would pull his 350 million offer?

I think it is hard to justify paying 15M to 35 year old Jamison. Suddenly his defense is a non-issue?

Jamison isn't on a rookie deal, so I think this is a bad example.

:o :o   trade checker 5443339 Forget Brandon Haywood and NYK
Sacramento is ripe for a trade. Lets send them TC for Jason Thompson and expiring on Kenny Thomas.
They need a big presence in the paint and we get a future young power forward in Thompson and Backup with Thomas. Continue to start Nazr and backup with Diop
