Do yourself a favor kid - dig up your dad's old VCR, (be sure to take out that old porn tape he made with him, your mom, a jar of Skippy Peanut Butter and your family dog) and pop in a tape of Tommy Heinsohn working for CBS the NBA Finals in the 80s. Now THAT's how you do a national broadcast objectively. Tommy's a homer, but when he's doing national broadcasts, he wasn't hanging off Larry Bird's scrotum the whole time like Breen does with Kobe and Lebron.

I am not criticizing Tommy as a player or human being. I also expect home announcers to be "homers". However if you listen to home announcers around the league, no one could question the fact that Tommy H is almost incapable of agreeing with any call that is not pro Celtics. This is not a secret. Everybody knows this. Ask any announcer. Not infrequently the other teams announcing staff will comment on it. I just find it ironic that the team with the biggest homer has the most sensitive fans.
