Ricky Williams Out For The Year

Post#1 » by SportsWorld » Tue Nov 27, 2007 9:32 pm

Great season Ricky!

Ricky Williams' 2007 season reportedly lasted just six carries.

The Miami Dolphins running back, who was reinstated last month after a one-year suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, suffered a torn chest muscle in the Dolphins' 3-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night, the Palm Beach Post reported, citing an unnamed source.

The injury apparently happened when Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons, pursuing a Williams fumble, stepped on Williams' right shoulder blade.

"It's just sad," Williams' agent, Leigh Steinberg, told the Post. "As hard as he's worked. He worked so hard physically to get back into shape and in therapy. He worked so hard for that moment and to have it end this way is sad."

I love how they said how hard he worked to get back on the field when he only practiced with the team for 1 week. Give me a break.

Well I assume theyll bring back Samkon then, since they waived him to make room for Ricky.
Running Backs in florida have had a tough time this year. Cadillac, Ronnie Brown, Michael Pittman, Ricky, Jesse Chatman (who after being questionable with an ankle injury going into last night injured his neck), Earnest Graham, Mojo and Fred Taylor have gotten pretty banged up too.

Yeah its not like hes been working on getting back into football shape for awhile now. He must have only done that this past week when he was able to practice with them.

He'd been practicing and working out very diligently on his own for quite some time......

So who do the Dolphins have at RB now..Lorenzo Booker backed up by Reagan Mauia? And where are all the Dolphins and Hawaii sycophants who kept yelling how great Mauia was going to be, how he was going to "revolutionize" the RB position (that would be TSN's Russ Lande)?

Tough break for Ricky, but karma is a real fickle b****, ain't she...

Could it possibly get any worse for the Dolphins?

Oh, right, Patriots going undefeated taking away the only Shula and company have pride in any more. Ouch.

Well theyve been questionable a couple times earlier this season. Obviously not as bad as the others but thats why i sort of seperated them and Graham at the bottom of the post. I should have made it more clear though.

I love karma, this is what he deserves for quitting on his team and retiring on them. What goes around comes around. He is only making this comeback because he desperately needs the money. If he did not love football before what made him change and have a passion for it now? The answer is cause he needs the money. He is a waste.

Oh, and I'm sure the Depression and the Social Anxiety disorder played no part in this.

so his comeback is all about passion and nothing to do with money and how much debt he is in?

He probably needs the money. But how does he 'deserve' this considering he was suffering through Social Anxiety Disorder and Depression when he retired?

Ahh I got ya, there was one game that I rememebr where MJD played hurt and he didn't loo kthe same, because he had very little leg drive. As for Ricky it is a shame, I wanted to see him play, nothing is going well for the Fins, lol.

Yeah I probably noticed more than most people since I have too much time to waste and look at most of the injuries and stuff. Plus i have Mojo on one of my fantasy teams :) (when i basically stole him in a trade after his crappy start).
