Sac/Bos/Phi trade idea

Post#1 » by Bill Lumbergh » Tue Feb 9, 2010 9:32 pm

Read this on another board and think it might be interesting to all concerned, so wanted to see what Kings fans think. Here's the guy's original idea (followed by my thoughts)

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yjk2gr4

Boston Gets:
Iggy
Beno Udrih
Andres Noccioni

Philadelphia Gets:
Kevin Martin
Kenny Thomas
Brian Scalabrine

Sacramento Gets:
Ray Allen
Samuel Dalembert

Philadelphia gets an automatic replacement for Iggy, at less years and fewer dollars, along with 10 mill expiring. well making up for the loss of talent.

Sacramento gets 10 million in salary expiring (subtracting kenny thomas's deal) and cuts their two worst contracts. And gets the center they want. All while handing the keys to the franchise over to tyreke evans.

Boston gets a player they can team up with rondo for a long time with rondo. The youngest and most talented player in the trade (Iggy... wait, maybe udrih is younger.) And they get two solid bench pieces in the two areas they need it (pg and wing.)
BUT, its alot of money, locked up for a long time.

I don't have any problem with iggy's deal. I wouldn't want to trade for a player we didn't have locked up for a long time, and he's entering his prime. The other two deals are the issue.

However, i think this trade, is so ideal for the other two teams involved, we might be able to get a draft pick out of it, or maybe an agreement to buy-out rayray from the kings to seal the deal.

My view: Great for Boston, good for Philly, probably should be a little better for Sac. I'd be willing to throw in one of our (Boston) firsts to Sac to get this done. Maybe Philly gives Sac a second rounder or somthing.

What do you guys think? I'm guessing you'd rather get Tyrus Thomas.

ray allen is a no go for a rebuilding team, he's too old, we need a quality young player in return. post player, al jefferson would be nice, but doubtful.

Ray expires this year. The motivation for you guys would be shedding some salary and adding a big. Personally, I'm not crazy about Dalembert and doubt you guys are either, which is why I suggested throwing a first and maybe a second your way too. Bear in mind, this was suggested by a Celtics fan, and he thought it was fair for all concerned, but I thought you guys didn't get enough.

Kevin Martin can net a better long term solution than this.
