I think I'd be more upset if we lost on the road, but at home it's like, well you can't win them all, but I want this team to PLAY HARD every game. I think it was a combination of mental crap, between playing the Lakers, and playing back to back. They also probably felt the effort of keeping this streak alive. I just hope they bounce back strong with atleast a mini streak. Real buzz kill though to go into the break in this fashion.

Why? The trade is getting a little fairer, especially if you consider the contracts.

The funny thing is that if kobe and bynum tomight a I guarantee ot would have been a much closer game. I think the Jazz players playing back to back nights were not mentally prepared for this game and assumed a victory when Kobe wasnt playing. In any case, the important thing is for the Jazz to start next week winning on the road to prove they are contenders not pretenders.

I still think acquiring Camby or a Biedrens type player would help the Jazz versus the Lakers. Memo is useless against them especially when he cannot hit a shot.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

Compare the Lakers with Pau Gasol vs the Lakers with Mark Gasol / Kwame. Although it is impossible to say what else might have happened if that trade had not occurred.

Also, teams like the Lakers can afford to be over the salary cap, so the contracts are less important to them. I think they are around 91 million for the season, 10 million or more above all other teams save one (from what data I could find).

It surprises me that Paul Millsap only got 18 minutes of playing time tonight. He seemed to be shooting well and defending well. Okur and Boozer were not.

Meh, it was a back to back, NONE of our open looks were falling, and farmar, odom and gasol couldn't miss. I wish we could have competed, but I really didn't expect any kind of win.

I'm tired of hearning that BS excuse. In the post game interview Phil Johnson was talkin about how back in the day, you used to have to get on the plane the next morning, at least these guys have the whole day off to rest..

They're professional athletes, dont tell me they can't handle playing two games in two nights.

Out of all the games I could have went to this season, I had to pick this one. The ESA was a shameful place to be tonight. Almost as much purple and gold as blue and white in the crowd. I swear the Lakers fan base doubled since the last time I saw them in the building...A championship will get you a bunch of bandwagon fans I suppose.

Jazz simply couldn't do anything right tonight. Our interior defense was completely exposed to the lengthy likes of Odom and Gasol. I couldn't believe how many times Odom waltzed into the paint, and all Boozer would do is just slap down thoughtlessly.

Oh well, we were due one of these games. After Jazz come back we got 8 games in 12 nights, that is really going to test the limits of this team... Until then.

Call it BS if you want, but the Lakers lost to us last time after the same exact back to back and I didn't see people saying it wasn't as much of a win because of it. Like it or not, it IS an excuse, and you just have to hope that you are playing a weak team or that the other good team also had a game the night before.

I'm not about to talk trash on our team tonight because they have put together an amazing run. Anybody that expects them to keep winning over and over has extremely high expectations.

By the way, if we make our season average in FTs and 3p shots (which were mostly uncontested), we tie them. This loss wasn't as bad as it looked.

So much for hoping Kobe gets hurt in the playoffs so the Jazz have a chance.

We are clearly the third best team in the West behind Denver and LA.

Older teams tend to struggle more on B2B's, we have some young legs on this team not to mention we are playing at home. No excuses!

Though I kind of saw this letdown coming. Having trouble being able to put away a Melo/Billups less Nuggets team on our home court and than having to rally late last night in the game vs. the clippers. Our level off play has definitely dropped off a bit from where it was.

Don't forget the last night before the all-star break, which is a huge gamble for a let down game.

Also Pau Gasol's length has always killed the Jazz, no surprise here.

Odom>>>Bynum.

I'm not afraid of Bynum at all but Odom makes me **** myself. Camby will not do **** against the Lakers. Okur defends Bynum better then Camby does. I didn't get to watch the game but it looks like AK and Matthews were the only ones that competed. We got out rebounded which is unforgivable. It's damn near impossible to win a game when you get outrebounded the way we did. Gasol had 19 rebounds. When this team is on they're one of the funnest teams to watch but when they play like this sloppy, unmotivated bull there's nothing worse. This team can compete with the Lakers but we're at a disadvantage, having a center that bangs and rebounds would help trim that disadvantage. Fes could be that player if he worked hard enough to get on Sloans good side.

As far as I am concerned last night was the worst game the Jazz have played all season. I can't remember seeing a team shoot less then 50% from the charity stripe. Also, We were outhustled, outrebounded, and unmotivated.

Deron Williams and Co. looked spastic on offense. I did not see any clue of confidence or intelligence on that court last night. We resorted to shooting jumpers that hardly fell because we didn't have the balls to drive it inside.

As far as our defense goes it was just as bad. When we played a man defense we were lit up from outside and the inside. When we switched to a zone, Lamar knew he could take Boozer one on one everytime and win. And thats what he did all night. As far as the back to back goes, the Jazz knew who they were going up against and failed to come and play. I don't care if you just got off a plane and had to come play. We have all the tools to win a Lakers team with or without Kobe but we were too damn scared/unmotivated to show an ounce of manhood.

It's been like that all year for Odom. Such BS. It's like he gained respect from the refs because he married a Kardashian.

Also, keep in mind this game was on the second half of a back to back. It's very tough to win both games in a back to back. I'm happy we got the W in LA, granted it was against the Clippers, a team we should beat.

BTW...I am a from Illinois, huge Deron fan since 2002, huge Jazz fan since 2005, but I also cheer on the Bulls :)
