Over Half Way Home. What do you think?

Post#1 » by RiversideClips » Thu Feb 11, 2010 10:24 pm

I think that the 1st half was a HUGE let down. It is nice to see Baron/Kaman plating together & Camby has been solid. Eric Gordon has been erratic but, he is our future and will be fine.
Craig Smith has been a pleasant surprise. I am not satisfied w/ the #3 or the back up guard and coaching & team chemistry. Why hasn't Dunleavy pulled the trigger on trades?? Dunleavy should be pro active in finding a back up guard & a "REAL" #3.

While I'm disappointed, I wouldn't say it was a huge letdown, for me anyways. Given our abysmal last season, any improvement is welcome. At least we've remained somewhat competitive during the first half of the season. While the playoffs are pretty much impossible at this point, I think if we can reach the 35 win mark, or even 30 wins, I think it would be a "decent" season.

But I think the thing that was the most disappointing for me, was that several times in the season, we went on little 3 or 4 game win streaks, only to have it snapped by losing to a team that we should have beat (on paper that is). And even though in reality, any elite team can lose to a mediocre one on any given night, if we've beaten elite teams like the Lakers, the Celtics, the Nuggets, and the Spurs, we should not be losing to the Nets or the Wolves, especially not in the fashion that we lost them in.

It's like we've been teased every once and awhile with how dangerous the team can be, only to be shot back down to reality by being blown out by a bad team.

Of course, Griffin being out for the entire season was another big disappointment, but you can't really blame anyone for this, since freak accidents can happen (well, maybe we can blame the medical team).

Everything was fine untill the break at that Memphis game. A win there and you were up to 0.500 but then the loss came and Griffin was announced out for the season and everything turned bad. But your future still seems bright in the right circumstances.
