McHale has leaked the Cavs are getting Murphy by Tuesday. No detail as to what we've traded, but I think Murphy is a brilliant fit to avoid PF double-teaming on Shaq, Murphy is an excellent shooter and delivers 15ppg 10rpg, ideal! [Jamison would have ruined the Championship aspirations in my opinion]

Murphy was mentioned...but he was not said to be THE piece.

3 or 4 team deal.

Murphy has the size that we want but he's also slow and not very athletic. To me, we'd better not even have considered moving Hickson for him since Hickson and Varejao are the only athletic players that we have on the front line.

Cavs look awesome with JJ on the floor, but at least VJ and JJ play the same role, so if we did lose JJ it wouldn't necessarily mean we lose the chemistry, it would just mean VJ plays the minutes he was playing before JJ's development had arrived. I can live with that. But no indication yet that JJ has been traded, so I don't expect to lose JJ at this point.

The only problem I see is Iguodala isn't a great shooter, he's just decent, he's probably gonna end up being a 33-35% shooter his whole career, for the Sixers that sucks, because we have no other shooters on the team.

But with the Cavs that's awesome, since yall already have MO and Lebron is developing a great 3pt shot too.

Also if you get someone like Dalembert out of the deal, who's really a 10/10/2 big would probably be your best defensive big man.

And once we released Z, you would have a lineup of Z,Shaq,Varejeo,Dalembert to throw at KG/Perkins, Dwight/Gortat and Gasol/Bymun/Odom.

I mean to me that's a dynasty right there, a Bulls-esque dynasty.

Spurs fan here. If I'm Phily's GM (i should get fired for destroying Billy Kings playoff team)
No seriously .... to get Iggy I'd want
1. 2 draft picks
2. young up and comer
3. a moderately priced vet.
4. and you have to take my worst contract also.
5. at least 15 mil expiring.

So here is the trade
1.2 #1s
2.Hickson
3.Parker or delante or Gibson or Moon or any combination if they don’t want 4b.
4.a. Z’s expiring
4b.Wally at the lowest number that makes the trade work about 5mil)
5.For Dalembert and Iggy
If I’m phily I try to get cleve to take Brand.

Seriously? Not only does that trade suck for Cleveland but it also is way more that Iguodala is worth.

Word up. If we're giving up Hickson/one of our rotation guards/Z/Wally S&T/2 1st round picks, we better be getting Amare or some other All-Star, not a fringe All-Star and a bad contract.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Cavaliers could have had Amare for that. Either the Cavs don't want him at that price (or any high price), or they (The Cavs) just don't want him.

As for Iguodala... The Cavaliers do like him; and would like to acquire him. However, Philly's price had been going higher and higher. Two #1 picks? For what? Iguodala? He is a 7-8 million a year player who is overpaid. Yes he can slash, but he is inconsistent. Only his size and defense are consistent. The Cavaliers would take Sammy with Iguodala, and they'd give up a 1st and expirings, possibly cash & a 2nd also. But two #1's and Hickson? LMAO!!!! Philly can have him. Or... send him to Dallas...they like to overpay for players.

He hates being called Iggy, by the way. Don't get Cheryl Miller'd.

I agree with the guy that said you don't have trade chips. You would need a third and maybe even a fourth team to get Andre or Amare.

Seriously, if Iguodala was worth that much, Philadelphia would be a significantly better team. In fact, they wouldn't even be trying to move him if he was worth that much.

I do not envy Danny Ferry right now. But...

If Igoudala falls into our laps in a deal that is fair for both sides, we should jump for joy. Its hard for us to judge how he would fit in. We can talk all the stats we want, but the bottom line is this: Mentally, will he buy in to exactly what we ask him to? Will he commit to our philosophy and put in the work that our leaders put in? Will he commit to working with our coaches on his long distance, or what ever is neccesarry to fill the role we ask him to.

You can (relatively) forget about the money. When our casinos are up and running, Dan Gilbert will have a liscense to print money. With expiring contracts being such a big part of the system, there will always be wiggle room to tweak the roster. I dont care that Igoudala is overpaid. If he is what we need, we will pull the trigger.

Just my opinion. I am positive we are doing ALL of our homework on everyone, and if a big deal is made it will have the OK from the front office to the locker room (and even the message boards)

I should post that trade on the phily board and see what they say.

Ultimately the value of Iggy and Dalambart is determined by comparing other offers made for them. Maybe mine is too much, maybe not.
But the bottomline question for me is does that trade make Cleve a better team?

I think the answer is yes in a landslide. That trade gives the Cavs complete control of the East and probably the league for the next 3-4 years.

To me the Cavs desperately need a perimenter player with GAME. Someone who can get his own shot, go to the hole strongly, and create for others. Oh and play great D on Pierce, Kobe, Carter, and Joe Johnson/JCraw.

Iggy does that and he makes those guys have to play D themselves. Iggy and Sam make Cleve a defensive monster and Iggy and Shaq allow LeBron to rest, etc. Sam gives Cleve youth. and takes Shaq's FA bargaining pistol away after you win the title.

Your better off with Jamison , Iguodala or at worst Amare ( due to past history and how much he will cost you now and in the future )

Murphy is nothing but a stat padder, doesn't play D, slow plodding. Trust me we've seen enough of him is GSW. a 6' 11" pf that plays outside, plays matador defense.

This has completely gone into trade thread territory.
