February Schedule

Post#1 » by Qwigglez » Tue Feb 9, 2010 3:47 am

Upcoming games:
February
10th Vs Portland
16th @ Memphis
17th @ Dallas
19th Vs Atlanta
21st Vs Sacramento
23rd @ Oklahoma City
24th Vs Philadelphia
26th Vs Clippers
28th @ San Antonio

Let's say Amare gets extended I think the Suns could go 7-2 at best, I'm shooting for 6-3, but think the Suns might fall into a 5-4.
I think the games in March will really be key into whether or not the Suns get a decent spot in the playoff.
Whats your prediction?

We've got some great momentum, guys are hitting their strides. With Amare, I see us going 7-2. Without Amare, I'm thinking 1-8 or so.

Memphis has been playing pretty bad lately. Also, Dallas plays at the Thunder on the 16th, and then the Suns the next day.
Thunder play at the Spurs on the 24th.
Spurs also play the Hornets on the first of March (back to back)
Hawks also go on a four game Western Conference road swing (17th Vs the Clips, 19th Vs the Suns, 21 Vs Warriors, 22nd Vs Jazz)
Just in case that changes anything for you. Lol.

I think we'll beat Amare and J-Rich on the 24th.

As above, I think 6-3 if things go well. But who the hell knows with these guys? Could be 3-6.

I'll go 6-3 altho I just don't know what to expect from this team anymore. I think we'll drop the Dallas and San An games and either the Mem or Okl game.

+1.

Depends which team shows up. If it's the new defensively focused, less Nash team then we could go 6-3 maybe 7-2. If we revert back to the Nash dominating, offensively stagnant and defenseless team then we could easily be 3-6.

Yeah this 5 game win streak is a little nice blip on the radar screen but regardless it means nothing if we don't follow it up with some wins and some consistency defensively. I'm liking what I'm seeing on this 5 game trip. Less Nash ball dominated offense finding J rich in the post getting Amare more touches in rhythm where he likes the ball bench is playing good defense. To those who think the bench plays great defense you're wrong. None of those guys are great defenders. Bruce Bowen was a great defender. Shawn Marion back in his prime was a great defender Raja Bell etc. Dudley and Dragic are good. But I'll take it over what we see from nash and amare defensively.

I just hope Kerr makes the right move. This 5 game win streak means nothing for the future of this franchise. If the right offer comes along that includes young talent cap relief and draft picks for Amare he might have to listen to it.

Amare is 27 dude, he is our young talent. There are no trades out there that make us better or more competitive the next 3 years -- the years we're most likely to have success. After Nash is gone, we'll have a tough, tough time being a >500 team. Amare and Nash are our keys to success, and trading either away means that for the next 3 years, we're a < 500 team.
