This is so moronic. Wade has publicly said he may leave Miami, and LeBron has come out with shows that say I Love NY, but they are for sure gonna stay with their teams. While Bosh who has said he hasn't decided yet, has shown that he doesn't want to play in Toronto. AMERICANS ARE DUMB.

That said, reports from behind the scenes have led many to believe that Bosh wants to leave and, in particular, that he wants to join up with James if possible. And Bosh's public stance hasn't inspired much confidence in his desire to wear Raptors red beyond this coming season, either, as he has expressed little passion about staying and has eschewed any attempts to get his autograph on a contract extension.

 wow, just wow. I didn't know that Stephen A. Smith counted as a "report behind the scenes"

Good one HSOB SIRHC. Try to pick a quote from the article & post it. It makes it easier for me to track & add to the OP.

Genius idea for a thread. It will be good for a few laughs in the future.

or if they're right, this is gonna burn bad.

you do realize that the cavs are a contending team, and Miami is playing nearly just as well as we are, but have a max contract expiring in the offseason to improve their team.

the raptors core will remain the same going forward for the next 2-3 years, and we are nowhere near contention.

Carlos Morales (ESPN LatinoAmerica comentator) on 2010. He says Bosh is Definetily moving since Raptors won't be ever able to compete.

yeah i don't like the fact that this is up here. visualization, actualization. the more and more people read these quotes, the more and more people think it's really true and the more chances it has of happening. frankly, i think he's staying and would like to keep that mindset.

After Colangelo comes out and says we're not trading Bosh, NBA TV still runs segments classifying him as a likely trade piece by the deadline.

This thread could really backfire on us lol. A lot of good material for other fans here. Anyway, here is another article by some blowhard. There is also a comments section, so we could always use the power of realgm to invade? :D

Rupturing the Raptors

Talk about tough decisions. The Raptors are playing well right now, winning 14 of their last 19 games to firmly entrench themselves as an Eastern Conference playoff team.

Chris Bosh is having another typically great season, and the Raptors are finally figuring out how to incorporate Hedo Turkoglu into the offense.

Yet the run could end within the next few weeks. That's because the Raptors might have to trade Bosh, who will become a free agent after the season. If the Raptors are convinced that Bosh won't be back, and every indication is that he won't be, then Toronto GM Bryan Colangelo will have to try to trade him now rather than lose him for nothing at the end of the season.

Colangelo, however, insists that he won't trade Bosh. "I have no intention to move him, and every intention to keep him long term," Colangelo told reporters Friday.

Trading Bosh would indicate to Raptors fans that the team is giving up on the season, that it will once again start over.

It would be a shame for the Raptors to miss a chance to play longer than the Maple Leafs.

    OP updated Jan 12.

The general propoganda had better slow down substantially after this article.

    Have you heard of karma?

Let's not assume anything is a done deal. Wait until it becomes official, one way or another, and then start making threads.

It's just one Raptor fan's opinion, but I really think this thread should be locked up before. We don't want to get too cocky.

This is timely... Don Landry and Gord Stellick on the Fan 590 this morning were discussing Chris Bosh going to the All Star Game in Dallas and both of them agreed that he was "gone" from Toronto after this season.

Their reasoning..? If Bosh wanted to stay in Toronto he would have signed a contract extension already.

You're paranoid. Who said anything was a done deal?

    Quote from my OP:

At the end of it all, we can either laugh our heads off reading the ridiculous statements, or we can all get together & drink ourselves silly, & talk about how right they all were!

Once Bosh resigns we need to flood the inboxes of every single one of these writers in a I Told You So method.

I just lost lot of respect for them. They really should stick to hockey, where they may have a slight clue about contracts and the CBA.

As mentioned before, none of the big-ticket free agents can sign an extension right now. They have to exercise their option to opt out of their contracts at the end of the year and sign a new max deal in order to maximize their salary and contract. Otherwise, they'd be leaving money on the table, which defeats the original purpose of signing a shorter-term contract.

If you don't get that, go compare it to the contract of Anthony, Carmelo.
