RIP Survivor Series

Post#1 » by sh00n » Fri Feb 12, 2010 8:07 pm

Looks like we're not going to see another SS; Vince said he's canning it and looking to have more gimmick PPVs. One thing that got me really excited is WWE is actually looking at bringing in some of the classic WCW gimmick PPVs like War Games and World War III.

I think it's for the best. SS has been stale for a while now. I can't get myself to care for any of teams. They're just a bunch of guys thrown together.

Last year we had Team Miz (5 midcard heels from SD!) vs Team Morrison (5 midcard faces from SD!). Miz vs. Morrison was relevant; the rest of them were thrown in for SS purposes.

WWIII would be cool, but it's so similar to the rumble. They'd need to make the winner the champion, or something like that. If you just give him a title shot, it's the same thing as the rumble.

I wish they'd add a few singles matches but still keep most of the matches as 4 vs. 4 or 5 vs. 5. I miss the old format, so I can't say I'll miss the pay-per-view being done the way it has recently. Bringing in ideas from other leagues makes it look like a third-rate promotion IMO.

I wouldn't say that; seeing as they own all those properties now. I'd personally love to see War Games, though. WCW had some real innovation when it came to stuff like that.

War games would be pretty cool. I'd still like to see a traditional survivor series with basically the whole care being the 4X4 format.

I always enjoyed Survivor Series when I was a kid. WWE should keep some team themed PPV around, I guess War Games would work.

SS is one of my favorites ppv back in the day when they use to do their annual traditional elimination tag matches.

Stanford,

While I attend to agree with you but I think Vince and the creative team should at least try harder to make SS worth watching it's their fault they make the ppv stale the past few years. I wish they try hard enough to make SS worth like it was few years ago but they didn't.
