Oh yeah, because Karl is a terrible coach and we'd be better off with Jeff Bezdilik.

Well I guess it's not so bad for right now, since we are in "win now" mode. I'd love to see Chauncey replace him in about 3 years when he retires.

Good news.

All the Karl haters need to timewarp back to 2007. They'll be much happier there.

Karl's a dancing monkey with cymbals tied to his paws.

AD would be a much better head coach.
Karl's a fool. i HIGHLY DOUBT we ever win a ring with him as our head coach

Good news I guess... Karl has changed a lot since Billups arrived... no coincidence... but as long as he performs I don't mind. Look at the bright side KidNine, it's one year not 5 years lol

Oh and we have to endure another season of Dumbo Dat Fan's Karl hate posts.

Snake, trying to insult me like that makes you look like the 12 year old you are. But you've proven you are no more mature than a 12 year old from your last temper tantrum that got you suspended, so no one should be surprised.

Yeah KidNine, don't worry, it's only one more year of Kmart and Billup's career. I'm sure they'll still be playing strong in two years. The only bright spot in this, if everyone is healthy come playoff time and the Nuggets aren't f'ed by foul trouble against the Lakers (meaning Allen plays, because Karl won't play Petro), this team has enough talent to beat LA despite Karl.

Has AD proven to be a good coach?
You really think AD is better than a proven and experienced coach like GK?

What has Karl proven? That he doesn't have much of a system, that his teams win by talent, and that he usually gets out coached in the playoffs? There is a reason why Karl has never been able to beat a higher seed in the playoffs and a reason why he has lost to an 8th seed as the #1 seed.

This team is lucky to have Billups. The team would still not have an inbounds play without him. That isn't good coaching.

While I go back and forth on Karl's true worth to this team, I don't see a better option available to the Nuggets this season or next. I was a major proponent of grabbing Rick Adelman a couple of years ago, but now I don't see a coach with the proven ability to lead a team like the Nuggets.

As for Dantley, you are out of your mind if you think he is next in line to coach the Nuggets. The guy may be great with players as an assistant, but that does not mean that he has the skills to handle the players when he is the one that is actually making all the decisions. The thing that many miss with this team is that we still have plenty of guys who have head issues. Kmart, Melo, Nene, and JR all seem to need someone to push their buttons and get the most out of them, so far Karl has been able to do it, and since the Nuggets added Chauncey he seems to have actually increased his control on the team. I would rather let it ride, then get an unproven coach.

I am glad it wasn't for the 3 plus years that GK was looking for, but maybe there is an agreement already in place for those extra years once the threat of a CBA lockout is over. If that is the case, :banghead:

Some Nets fans were talking about going after Karl in the offseason, I for one am ecstatic that he got this extension so that it is no longer possible for the Nets to sign him.

I know feelings on Karl are mixed amongst Nuggets fans but I think he would have been terrible on the Nets.

I haven't been nearly as upset with Karl this year as in years previous. AC is out of the rotation entirely, which is my biggest gripe with him. I feel like he's had his players' backs more this season than before as well, which was another issue I had with him.

This is a good thing. No contract/lame-duck issues looming over Karl as they begin the stretch run this season. There really isn't a better option out there right now, and bringing a rookie head coach in for a team like the Nuggets seems foolish. The last thing this team needs is questions about Karl's contract when the team's in the middle of a series against the Lakers. One less distraction.

One thing we know for sure is that without Karl, we are without Grg. I'll take Karl/Grg over any half assed d-league caoch that is actually available.

And AD sure as **** doesn't have the demeanor or assertiveness to be a head coach. Hell, I don't think he'd even enjoy being a head coach.

Return to Denver Nuggets
