Stanley Robinson a total non factor too, are we sure he's supposed to be that high on the mock drafts?

i hope we get evan turner, and jan vesely my 2 fav players.

Robinson is athletic as hell, but he's not too polished as a basketball player it seems.

Yeah he's fading. I think he should be bottom half of the first round with Damion James.

I really don't know what the wolves are gonna do if they pick like 4th or 5th....

Guess they will have to go wesley johnson or aldrich or something...

Favors isnt what we need
Whiteside is pretty raw, if he comes out

We could always go with Aminu or Johnson... I really hope we can do better though. Just once give us a top 2 pick!!!

D. Jones cooled off.

Udoh had a meh game.

Hobson had 11 point and 10 assists! But only shot 1-10 :(

Sanders had a good game w/ 15 and 14. 5 TO's though.

I think after the top 8, the rest of the first round is really, really close.

I think there's a drop after 2, after 8, and then 9-25 or so are all very close.

I think that's good for us because the Bobs and Utah picks could net some solid players that could end up being better than some in the late lottery.

I agree in general, I felt much the same way last year as far as their being a solid top 5, but in retrospect probably should've pared that down to a top 4, Griffin/Harden/Rubio/Evans

This year I'd prob pare that top 7 down to 5 and go
Wall, tier 1, slight separation
Turner, tier 2, bigger separation
Cousins/Aldrich/Aminu, tier 3

then after that I think you can argue the guy at 6 for a guy at 16 and maybe beyond. There's Ed Davis and Favors at the top of that PF mountain right now, but I wouldn't say their performances have reflected that you can assure right now that they're going to be better NBA players than Monroe or even Brackins. At this point its just a gamble on a raw player w/ athleticism, but they aren't even 7 footers, just 6'9 raw athletes and that recipe has failed plenty. Rather than think about Favors or Davis in the top 7 or 8 I think I'd rather talk myself into Brackins at pick 20 and realize he's underrated athlete, lots of skill, but stuck on a horrible team where he had to do everything himself.

I tend to forget about Monroe. I could see him in the second tier, making it 3-9. Brackins has looked awful though this year. I wasn't even considering him in my third tier, to 25 or so.

Yeah, right on cue he had a game that showed his biggest strengths and weaknesses. 8 points, 10 boards, 11 assists, only turned the ball over twice, but only went 1-10 from the field (the 1 being a dunk, 8 of the misses being pull-up jumpers). One of the more puzzling near triple-doubles of this year. Still, even with that rancid shooting performance, since DX tweeted about his shooting struggles he's shot 51.1 FG%/82.6 FT%/77.8 3FG% while averaging 18 PPG/10.5 RPG/6.8 APG/2.3 TOPG/2.3 SPG/0.5 BPG.

Adding to the prospect performances yesterday:

James Anderson. 31 points on 17 shots, 4 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 3 TO's.

Xavier Henry had his best shooting game in awhile, 3/5 from beyond the arc, 5/9 from the field overall.

Stanley Robinson didn't do a whole lot, 10 points, 9 boards.

Dominique Jones had 16 and 9, but shot 6-21 and turned the ball over 5 times.

Elliot Williams 27/4/3, got to the line 15 times.

Jerome Jordan 19/6/5 blocks.

John Henson got the most minutes he's seen all year (26). 9 points, 8 boards, 3 steals, 3 blocks. One to keep an eye on now that Davis is down and he'll get minutes.

Damion James 13/9/5.

Battle of St. Joe's on CBS right now, Turner v. McCamey.

Good point about John Henson. It will be interesting to see if he can play enough to enter into the high lottery fray.

DraftExpress

Jan Vesely on the other hand looks like the real **** deal. He's a totally different player than the guy I evaluated back in November.

I've been touting Vesely for a few weeks now, since I saw him take a dump on rubio and pekovics team in euro play.

He came to play against the big teams in europe, that says a lot about him.

6"10-6"11 , athletic, can shoot from range, and is a great rebounder.

He's gonna make some team very, very happy, but they may have to wait a couple years, depending on the buyout they can work out.

What's his contract situation. Is he another two year rental? I'd love a SF like him but I can see the MN fanbase rolling their eyes at such a proposal, thinking, oh no, not this again ...kahn's a joke, etc. etc.

Great game again from Evan Turner against Illinois 16 pts, 11 rebs and 8 assists. Tremendous all-around player. I love him.

I heard he's under contract with Partizan through 2013, however I have heard from some talk that his buyout wouldn't be impossible and he could probably head to the nba next year. I'm not sure though, I'm sure the nba people know more about this.

I think he might project to be more of a PF also, he could probably play some SF as well. Hybrid perhaps.

When he played Rubio's team, he was making shots, showing good play down low, and had 15 rebounds, which is very rare in Europe, especially for a kid his age. The kid can really play. If he was in the NCAA, wow he would be very high up in the rankings forsure.

If we could get him with the bobcats pick i've been saying for a while now, DO IT. If he takes a year or two to get here so what. I really feel he could be a great player. He's got size, athletic, he's got some polish, and he shoot the rock.

Vesely primarily plays SF for Partizan. He looks to have the athleticism to cover the position in the NBA, but if his shot doesn't get more consistent (he's got good form, but the results need work) he might be better served at PF and utilizing his athleticism around the basket. His handle needs work, but is pretty good considering he's 6'11". He used to get most of his points by being active off the ball, but now he's got a decent turnaround and is better at taking advantage of his size on the block. He really gets after it on defense, and would be a kick-ass lob target for Rubio. I like him better than Motiejunas, and any of the SF/combo forward types that would be in play at the CHA pick.

The only place I've read about his contract is on DX. I wouldn't mind stashing him in Europe for a year or two, though. It would soften the sting of losing our pick to the Clippers.

yes his form on his jumper is very pretty, especially for a guy that size.

I still think he may be a PF in a few years, when his body develops. NBA athletes at the #3 are crazy. Maybe he could play SF though in the nba.

I'm with you, I'd love to stash him away. He could be a guy who goes pretty high though, we may not have a chance to nab him with the cats pick.
