The Jazz asleep at the wheel!!!
Cavs going to get Amare to improve their front court irrespective of the impact on their luxury tax. Dallas trying to get better in a trade for Butler. and the Jazz, only rumor in month, has been a Brewer salary dump to Memphis. Lets face it the Jazz number priority is being in the playoffs not winning it all at all costs. Lets be happy the Jazz will provide entertainment for one round or two in the playoffs!
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

Re: The Jazz asleep at the wheel!!!
Just cause its not frontpage on wiretap doesn't mean talks aren't happening. Jazz FO is notorious for keeping stuff under wraps until its done. Just look at the Korver trade for instance.
I highly doubt the Jazz will pull the trigger on anything other than a minor salary dump before the deadline. We'll see though.

Wow...one trade goes down and you snap.
For the record, the Jazz are mentioned as one of the possible teams that could get involved in some way to help make the Cavs/Suns trade go down. Also, I oppose the "winning it all at all costs" philosophy. Even if you dump any chance you have of having a future to win now, there is no guarantee you do so. Yes, the Cavs are dumping young talent in the hopes of winning a championship--but this is because they HAVE to do something or they will lose LeBron. They feel like they have to let him call the shots to keep him from leaving for some bigger market. Even if they land Amare, they could still not win a championship. Then if they lose LeBron in the offseason, and they just dumped Hickson for the opportunity to try, and Amare were to move on, they will be a bad, bad team. Everything has its risks--there is wisdom in knowing which ones to take.
Here is the story:

Here is the story:
Right now, multiple sources have said, the Cavs are still working hard to assemble three-team trades. They have been in direct talks with the Phoenix Suns about Amare Stoudemire, the Indiana Pacers about Troy Murphy and the Washington Wizards about Antawn Jamison.
But they also are involving the Houston Rockets, Utah Jazz and Philadelphia 76ers in trying to set things up. In recent weeks the Cavs have also had expanded talks with the Chicago Bulls about making them a partner. If that seems like a wide net, it is supposed to be.

I am always impressed how people can read things into stories that appear on thw wiretap......
"Cavs trying to trade for Amare" becomes "Jazz doing nothing and are not interested in winning the title".......
OK........

Re: The Jazz asleep at the wheel!!!
Even though the trade deadline is a few days away and we don't know what the FO is doing, I'll be surprised if anything goes down. Every year we see teams making moves and the Jazz just stand pat. I kinda agree with Toledo. We were on a great run and got a reality check playing against the Lakers. We need a big who can hang with the Lakers' bigs and/or a wing who can score when our offense is struggling if we want a championship. We have some trading chips which wouldn't affect our core at all. The Harp TE, Brewer, CJ, Korver, Fes, Koufos and even the NY pick if a good trade came along. And yet, I'll be surprised if we use any of them.

Re: The Jazz asleep at the wheel!!!
The Jazz need to do 4 trades in next few days:
A) Okur and Korver for Samuel Dalembert and Rodney Carney (-2.0 M)
B) Kirilenko for Richard Jefferson and Marcus Haislip (-1.8 M)
C) Brewer and Koufos for Memphis (Lakers) pick (-4.0 M)
D) Fesenko for DeAndre Jordan
If Sixers waive Korver then the Jazz could sign him for minimum if it does not take them into luxury tax area.
PG Williams Gaines Price
SG/SF Jefferson Miles Matthews Carney (Korver)
PF/C Boozer Millsap Dalembert Jordan Haislip

Re: The Jazz asleep at the wheel!!!
Dallas getting Butler and Haywood improves that team quite a bit. It would seem the Jazz were certainly in a position to offer a more attractive package, and Butler plus Haywood would have been a great addition. I think it can be reasonably inferred that: a) Jazz will try to resign Booze this summer. b) They are definitely going to be conservative with CBA negotiations pending.

This CBA thing is all over the place; I don't see the Jazz going into big things...
Anyway I've just arrived home with my wife and son from our "one month a year home" at Floripa, Brazil.... I'm angry because wednesday I have to go back to work and I think my head won't be straight enough to talk basketball for some days...

Man, can't believe you were here. We got meet some time when you're around. Watch a Jazz game or something. How did you like it here this year? I love living in Floripa, but I gotta say that summertime gets crazy. Lots of people, lot of traffic, things get more expensive. It's a great place, but all the crap that happens during summer can really ruin your day.

Re: The Jazz asleep at the wheel!!!
When Greg Miller said he thinks this Jazz team can win the championship this year with the roster as is, it tells me he is clueless.
Boozer is gone!!! Does he undestand that? You are not going to pay him 12 mil to keep Millsap on the bench. Now is the time to take a gamble on a player with the NYK pick!!! You can virtually pick the player you want from a team with losing record and add a Jazz player such as Memo or Korver and try to win it all, but it will not happen.

How about Miles for Blatche. we get a big man for a couple of years and clear out the logjam at swing positions! How about Boozer for Bosh. Willaims and bosh buddies?

Milsap only makes about $6 million next year. That isn't a bad price for a back up pf.

STFU about the NYK pick. I'm really getting tired of it, you're full of **** and you I'm sick of hearing your broken record. The Jazz don't even know what the pick is going to be yet. There's simply too much at risk if the pick ends up 1-3. More than that, the opportunity to get a highly talented player at 2-3m per season is waaaay more valuable then getting some other team's castoff at 5x the price.
The Jazz are keeping the pick, despite your lunatic ravings. And they're right to do so unless they are offered a legitimate star in return for it. Since I doubt that offer has been made, there's no more to be said.
Leave it the hell alone. This is incredibly annoying even by your standards.

A) Shotblocking, rebounding, quickness
B) Outside shooting, complete skills at SF (with Dalembert there will be less room for AK inside so it would demand a traditional SF)
C) RJ, CJ, Wes (and maybe KK) can handle SG/SF minutes (even Sap can get few minutes at SF or Price at SG)
D) Jordan is quicker center, great athlete who could develop in starter
All A, B, C trades shave money from payroll, keeping the Jazz under luxury tax.
I should be on Lacob payroll...

Your moves put this team in the lottery. Have you seen Richard Jefferson lately? Or Kirilenko for that matter.

And why are the Clipps trading Jordan for Fesenko?
And why are we trading two first round picks for the #29 pick in the draft?

Re: The Jazz asleep at the wheel!!!
Richard Jefferson does not shoot that badly. Pop uses him as a stationary spreadshooter and does not explore his full package. His FT attempts dropped almost to half. For Spurs it's Parker with Duncan and other guys standing around plus Ginobilli ducking his head and drive to the basket. That's not RJ's game.
Lottery team?! With Dalembert''s shotblocking and rebounding and RJ's outside-inside smooth skills?
Koufos has no value. Clips maybe could do it, or ask for second round picks, Changing of scenery could help both youngsters.
