If you guys are rebuilding.....Nash Blockbuster?

Post#1 » by Canucklehead » Mon Feb 15, 2010 7:31 am

What would you guys think of a Nash/Dudley trade for Derozan/Jarret Jack/Reggie Evans?

Do you think your owner would do it?

JJ is proving to be a good deal for the price

Reggie has one year left after this and can help out with your rebounding issues

And Derozan should have a bright future ahead of him.

Your friend Sarver also shaves 2million worth of salary from the books this year or whatever is left of it proportioned. The deal could probably be reworked even more to eliminate another small salary.

Horrible trade

TOR would need to include a boatload of draft picks, and only way Suns would move Nash is if he doesn't like the inevitable Amare move

I could take him out of it we'd have to throw in POB and take G.Hill. Does that work?

Ends up saving 3 million immediately and keeps the future brighter for PHX

I agree, horrible trade. You're obviously blinded by your bias but the Suns could get a much better deal for Nash.

Since everyone is figuring out our owner is cheap there's gonna be so many trade threads from fans of other teams.

I'm with Tastic. The only way Nash would leave PHX is if he wanted out or we could get Lebron for him. Our FO won't trade Nash.

Magic fan here,
If the Amar'e trade does fall through, I can't see how Nash will be able to stay quiet about being stranded on the sinking ship that is the Suns. And if he does demand a trade to a contender, which of the top teams would you guys prefer trading to?

If the Magic, Jameer would have to be included and we have a couple of expirings in JJ Reddick and Anthony Johnson, or you can take Brandon Bass because he's wasting away on Stan's non-3-pt shooting bench. And we have a 7 mil trade exception, but that can't be combined for one player.

Magic with Nash would be on par with the Cavs with Amare, if not better.

That being said, I don't think Nash would have a cry about Amare leaving. Nash is well aware of our own financial situation and the damage that had been done during the D'Antoni era, yet he still agreed to sign an extension. I'm sure he knew quite well what Amare's intentions were come 2010 and knew we were unlikely to sign him to a max contract. The facts were there, yet he still went ahead with accepting the extension deal. Nash knew we weren't likely to contend for a few years and possibly even longer. He's not going to leave or be traded unless he wasn't welcome anymore or he has a change of heart and decides he wants to win a championship.

At least this made a lot more sense than the TOR one, where no draft picks are included and PHX sends away two of the fan favs.
That was basically a no-brainer immediate decline. (Damn I hate those one-sided trade proposals made by fans of whatever team)

Since I'm kind of a Magic fan, I wouldn't mind seeing this trade being done. Steve's talent won't be wasted, and the Suns gets an "slightly over the pass mark" replacement for Steve Nash and a rebounder in return. However, I highly doubt that we need another SG.
This is of course, assuming that Steve is demanding a trade. If he wasn't demanding a trade at all, this will, again, be an immediate no.

Why don't we just thrown in Grant Hill, Lopez, the wood off of the arena floor, and some polo shirts from the employees as well.

Suns will never trade Nash. He is literally the face of the franchise. We should actually be called the Phoenix Nashs. Nash makes all the money for the Suns.

I'd like to see him on the Magic, wouldn't even care what the Suns got back. I'd just like him to go to a contender that he can do the most damage with and that is the Magic by far.

we're not rebuilding, as stupid as that may seem. we're just giving away amare hoping that what we get will push us into the playoffs. sickening.
