I hope Cousins head problems are just immaturity.

No offense to anyone, but if Cousins is slightly more talented than Favors but has Michael Beasley syndrome, I'll take Favors. Is that fair to say?

slightly more talented, but tougher and infinitely more skilled.

To me SupercoolBeas never had the physical talent to make it big in the league. It's that simple. He's too short at 6'7 to be a force at the 4 and not quick enough to be an impact small forward.

Maybe, but at least Cousins is getting tangible results. Favors needs to be much more aggressive - particularly in commanding/demanding the ball on offense.

In regards to the comparison, I think that it is fair to bring up their head to head matchup in high school. This should at least be considered imo.

As far as Cousins goes, I think he will slip simply because of how big a head case he is. No way would I ever want him on my team. He taunts fans and lashes out at opposing players. That headache at least partially counters the talent he has displayed.

How many cell phone gestures has Favors made?

CP3?
LeBron?
Wade?
Bosh?
Duncan?

"He only raped one girl, give me a break..."

Ridiculous to just dismiss something because it only happened once. Anyone who thinks that Cousins personal issues aren't a concern is an idiot. The dude is going to get more than one GM fired, either for passing him up or for drafting him. And there's going to be no way to tell which on the day of the draft.

Punches players in the face....if those aren't character concerns, then what are? Does he have to have a criminal past?

Honestly this brings nothing to the conversation, and I suspect your comments have their roots based in race. If that's all you want to add, just leave it be son.

I'm sorry, but did making a cell phone gesture just get compared to rape??? This thread is going downhill FAST.

I don't know if this has been said already but when you're looking at Favors and especially when you're comparing him to a guy like Cousins you have to look at his situation. He went to a Georgia Tech team that already has a similar player (Lawal) who's obviously higher up on the food chain (think Darren Collison with Jrue Holiday and Russel Westbrook). On top of that he plays with a backcourt that can barely make a simple entry pass and who look for Lawal 9 times out of 10.

Now I'm not excusing his legitimate concerns, such as his lack of aggression, and for the record I do believe Cousins will likely be picked higher and be better in his first year. But at the same time it's hard to look at Favors' situation and think it's favorable (see what I did there?). At the end of the day I do think Favors will have the better career out of the two but both should be very good players in their primes.

The cell phone gestures were the tip of the iceberg for this complete headcase. His teammates have to hold him off half the time from making stupid decisions on the court. How is that not a concern? Cousins has a history of aggression problems ON THE COURT.

As for the guy who claimed that was a racial statement: to draw that parallel shows that you have some sort of stereotype in mind and are probably racist in some degree. I mean, how unbelievably ridiculous do you have to be? Just because you commit a crime does not make you of a particular race. However, my comment was geared towards the examples of NBA players who have had juvenile criminal pasts- Caron Butler for one. My point is that sometimes NBA people have concerns with these sort of people who have done nothing on the court. (maybe, like Butler they grew up in a bad environment, but my point is that this does not always manifest itself on the court- while a guy like Cousins is overlooked) I see that as unfair.

So that makes it excusable behavior?

lol at the cell phone gesture. who gives a sht?
do you even know the back story behind that?
some kid at miss st got a hold of demarcus' number passed it around on campus and they all blew up his phone to try to get him off his game.
demarcus got his getback on the court. i thought it was funny.

tip of the iceberg? geez, some of you are fckin prudes. i prefer my players with a bit of nastiness on the court anyways.

edit: also this

imo, demarcus had every right to make a simple gesture. it aint like he grabbed his dick at them or flipped em the bird.

i dont mind players with questionable character but Cousins is definitely enough of a headcase that teams like the Spurs and Thunder wouldnt touch him
