How did Harrell do?

Post#1 » by eagle13 » Fri Nov 30, 2007 3:47 pm

I kinda missed him?

We did OK against the run so he must have did his part?
Never expected him to be a pass rusher.

BTW anyone notice if Muir played? He was active.

Harrell was rather nondescript.....held his own but didn't make many plays, little pass rush, Picket played great. I did see Muir on the field once it was either the first or second series, he looks like he got a bit bigger since the start of the season.

I actually don't even remember watching much of the line. I was too busy cursing the debacle that was our defensive backfield.

There were no big runs up the middle, so he did his job. Don't know how he would've done if Pickett was playing the game of his life though.

Its good if you are an offensive lineman, not a defensive lineman.

I actually by chance saw he was on the field for a series and watched him. On an inside run he did a good job holding his position even though he wasn't in on the tackle. Dallas passed on the two other downs i was watching him and on the pass rush he did nothing. Tried bull rushing forward to maybe collapse the pocket, but was to high and basically got stopped in his tracks and got nowhere. After those plays, i never paid attention to if he was on the field.

Harrell impresses: Nunn said a bright spot for the line was the play of first-round draft pick Justin Harrell, who was active for the first time since Oct. 14 and played close to 20 snaps, his most extended action in three games this season.

"He didn't get washed around in there," Nunn said. "A couple times, held double teams and then come off and separate and make plays, made a tackle and assist, and was running to the ball. He's got something to build on, and we're going to. He's going to get more reps."

Nunn thought that he played well. He said that he held his ground well on double teams.

I looked for him. Just like in his previous PT, he looked solid at the point and was active. I can see why he was compared to Jolly coming out, though I think Harrell is a better athlete which gives him a bigger upside. Jolly is no slouch athletically though.

Harrell did OK. He took some double teams but he didn't do anything to stand out. I know you're not supposed to judge a draft pick based on his first season but Reggie Nelson would be looking damn good in the secondary right now.
