Will the Clips STAND or TRADE?

Post#1 » by RiversideClips » Mon Feb 15, 2010 5:24 pm

For some reason, I think the Clips may package Camby, an Injured Telfair & Thorton for an underachieving #3 & Guard. Anyone else think we may not have the same team on Wednesday Night as we do now?

There have been some rumors so they may be traded, but I don't know for who.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

I think the Clippers will trade. It's a pretty smart move by GM Dunleavy to only include Camby in a trade only if they are willing to take on Telfair and/or Thornton. If the Clippers are dead set on their goal of Summer 2010, then trading Telfair and Thornton for expiring contracts is a must.

The Clips want to make a move for their starting SF, but will fail. They'll and up moving Thornton to a contending team for chump change. Someone already at the cap won't mind giving up an expiring for him.

I would expect a small trade. Nothing major. Probably just to clear up some cap space for the off-season.

Hard to say since we don't know what's on the table other than the Blake/Outlaw for Camby rumor. I think we'll end up keeping him since we'll never get the value we want. His age/contract does not mix well with the talent he provides, so both sides will never be satisfied. We want too much, they give too little.

I believe we will package Thornton and Telfair for an expiring.
I wish we could've dealt for a legit SF (Iguodala). Maybe Dunleavy can work something out.

Bill Simmons tweeted:
Did the Clips really just give away Marcus Camby for Steve Blake + Travis Outlaw? Please tell me that wasn't the whole trade.

He makes it sound like the deal went through....

Still unofficial, but I don't like it.
