If no amareand plan B is jamison/murphy/maggette

GET MAGGETTE, dude is beastin' this yr. Think a poor man's lebron, maybe get randolph, turiaf too

The Cavs resume play Thursday at home against Denver riding a 13-game win streak, but they still hope to come away with a big player by week's end. While Stoudemire leads their list, the Cavs have also been mentioned in relation to Washington's Jamison and Indiana's Troy Murphy. Sources told ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard on Monday that the Cavs are also in talks with the Warriors about Corey Maggette.

LeBron James is aware of Cleveland's interest in Maggette, and sources close to him say he believes he could help the Cavaliers. Maggette can play shooting guard as well as small forward, and while he's not a great outside shooter, the Cavaliers could at times play James and Maggette together on the frontline in a small lineup.

The Cavs might need a Plan B, as the Miami Heat are pushing hard to land Stoudemire as well, sources told ESPN.com's Marc Stein on Monday night.

It is not clear whether the Cavaliers' second-choice is Jamison or Maggette. The discussions with Golden State have centered around Cleveland sending Ilgauskas and his $11.5 million expiring contract to the Warriors for Maggette. Other players, perhaps Cleveland's Danny Green and Golden State's Devean George, would have to be added to make the deal work financially.

I would assume that cavs would ask for warriors to buy out big Z

Also to get maggette in a straight trade, it wouldnt require hickson and picks too unlike the other rumored trades

basically all this would be is warriors renting big Z, buy him out, then he ends up back with cavs later on. While dumping maggette's contract

If the Cavs would take Jason Richardson from Phoenix, then Amare is a done deal. We know the Cavs are looking in to 3-way deals. What if the Warriors were receptive to swapping Maggette and Randolph for Richardson as part of a 3-way that would probably also mean we'd have to throw in Wally, and perhaps Delonte too.

Why?

Because although they wouldn't save money immediately, over the life of the contract they'd save a bundle. Richardson had his best seasons under Nellie in Golden State. He's also a year younger than Maggette.

It's too beautiful.

Do it Ferry!

I don't think the dubs would have a problem of buying out Z to go back to Cavs. But they will most likely want JJ or pick to facilitate this.

Mgmt and fans are high on AR at the moment, don't let some folks on this site make you think otherwise. We loved JR before and was the rock of the franchise during the we believe days, but at what he's making now and to the production, the dubs don't want any part of that.

lol no we wouldn't.

Maggs for Z and salary filler on both sides... we'll send Z back with a $20 pinned to his jacket and a frilly bow on top.

A Richardson/Maggette swap would save the Warriors $16m over the length of the contract, so, something of value would have to come back. The W's might prefer to just dump Maggette for an expiring and other perks, but I doubt the Cavs are *that* interested in Maggette. My assumption is they're trying to find a team interested in taking on Richardson, and the it was under Nellie and the W's that he had his most success.

I think the Cavs would be nasty if they had both Amare and Mags. Lebron would make those 2 better and more effecient than they already are. Won't put as much pressure on Bron to score as much.
