Re: Officlal Prospect thread
I'm not as familiar about Vesely's contract situation as I want to be, but I know he's under contract with Partizan until 2013 and could possibly be bought out. Is 500K really enough to release him (there is no other player that I am aware of from Partizan who we can draft to offer an additional 500K). Does it seem likely that he could become a 31st pick?

Re: Officlal Prospect thread
I agree he'll more likely end up being a Dirk type power forward, which is why I don't think he'd fit in Minnesota.

He may not fit now...
but if he's a player you need to wait 2 years on, you can take him ( if there with cats/jazz pick ) and worry about the fit later.
This team will change a lot.

I just thought I'd take my new 2010 Sig out for a test drive.

I know the team as a whole will change, but the power forward position seems fairly set in stone.

Re: Officlal Prospect thread
He's 6'11", 240, very athletic and get after it on the defensive end. We don't have a player like that (Hollins doesn't count). Even if he ends up at PF, he's worth rolling the dice on. At he very least he gives our PG's a nice lob target. His length and athleticism could provide a nice complement to Al or Love no matter what position he plays in the frontcourt.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

No kidding, especially on defense.

I really think Aldrich is going to be a monster and think that with our 2 later picks we should do everything to get him. He challenges every shot in the paint. He looks huge out there, Jeff Whitey(KU's backup center) is supposedly 7 foot but he looks so small compared to Aldrich..

Have two picks in the 20's ever been traded for a top 10 pick? How about in the last 10 years?

The Charlotte pick won't be in the 20's. It will be 15-18.

Has a 15-18 pick and a pick in the 20's ever been traded for a top 10 pick (most likely top 8)?

Re: Officlal Prospect thread
Not trying to be a dick, just curious. Seems unlikely that a team would want to drop down so far in the draft since chance of getting a star in the top 10 is much higher.

Re: Officlal Prospect thread
If Aldrich falls and Charlotte and Utah stumble down the stretch, I don't think it would be impossible to trade up for him. I don't think it's likely, but maybe Aldrich falls to 11-12 and the Wolves have picks 15 and 22.

Closest thing I can recall is the Eddie Griffin(#7) for RJeff(#13)/Armstrong(#18)/Collins(#23) in 2001 between Houston and NJN.

Nice one. Interesting that the team trading back made out much better too.

Re: Officlal Prospect thread
The two picks alone might not do it but one or both picks combined with another asset (Pekovic, cap space, Gomes, Sessions, etc.) might get it done.
*Obviously those other assets have varying return values, I'm just listing a few.

I'm really drinking the Pekovic Koolaid. I don't want to trade him at all. I think he is going to be a force to be reckoned with.

I think that Charlottes should be in the teens, Utah's will pry be in the 20's but we could find someone to take on Sessions/Gomes/raw capspace perhaps as well?
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
