if the kings out in playoff...i prefer not to win..WHY?
Im become a kings fan because of tyreke, im a big fan of tyreke since he’s high school days, sacramento kings is now tyreke team. I see good future on this team under tyreke leadership, the next rookie draft was so much important to this team.
Nice to see kings wins some games, but those wins still wont put kings in a playoff run this season. Worse, It will put us #5 to #10 pick overall in the coming draft (instead of top 3), that’s sad, no wall no cousins there. Since the kings are out in the playoff picture, I prefer to loss games this season to get higher draft pick (at least top 3). Wall will pick #1, and cousins will pick #2 or #3. I want cousins on kings uniform, I do believe that evans/cousins team-up was really good in sacramento (it’s like a penny/shaq combination in today’s generation). If the kings ends up #4 or #5 draft pick because of some wins, we will never get cousins (hes lock top 3 for sure), that’s sad especially for me because I really want the evans/cousins team-up.
Tanking games if a team was already out in playoff picture, isn’t bad to do. Later It will benefit the team when they get a star caliber player in the draft. Many teams do that, don’t be surprised if some lower seed teams do the tank after the all star break.

Re: if the kings out in playoff...i prefer not to win..WHY?
We had the wost record and drafted 4th...yet we feel we got the best player in the draft. Who knows how Blake Griffin's career will go, but I'm not so sure losing for the sake of drafting is good. The three teams that have the most ping pong balls have a better chance of drafting 4th than 1st, second, or third. Basically it's set up not to tank because mathematically you won't get rewarded for doing so.
In fact I think 5/6 is perfect. There are a few bigs that would work. Favors and Cousins will probably be gone, but there's no law saying that we could swap picks with a team or do something else that is more conventional if Petrie decided Cousins is the guy we want.
I'd rather stay competitive.

yup, Id rather see the Kings win some games. As said earlier last season we had the best shot at landing number 1 and ended up picking 4th. We got the right guy with that pick, but losing to gain draft stock in my oppinion is a terrible strategy.
Not only that the Kings are having a hard enough time selling out Arco, if they keep losing, attendance is only gonna get worse, with worse attendance the chances of the Maloofs taking the team elsewhere goes up. Id rather win some games, and sell out Arco and keep our team in our town.

I Find the whole idea of Tanking morally repugnant, losing games in purpose doesn't Build your character...
When i used play soccer u17 almost 7 years ago i hated losing, the coach use to tell me take it easy its a friendly game...

Must be true, if it's a rumor you read on Hoopshype.

I think it's wrong to lose games on purpose but if you can't make the playoffs then you should look to create a positive situation that improves your lotto chances through trades. Meaning trade guys that will help another team with depth but that marginally help us squeak out a win. On our roster those guys are people who aren't long term keepers. May Armstrong Udoka kt nocioni Sergio. I say we move these guys and try to get back 2nd round picks or late 1st. You could potentially add Martin drih and Garcia to the list bu those guys could help us plenty next season. I personally want oto move either martin or Garcia immediately because they both deserve time but so dongreene and casspi.
Getting rid of those guys would cause is to lose a few games but not many and some will not have a future with this team.

I think the next step is to pick up an established name or two. I think the days of swirling around at the bottom of the toilet bowl hoping to snag a winner are over with. We've got "the" guy, now it's time to build around him. We don't need to draft another superfreak, although it wouldn't hurt, now is the time to clear some cap space, learn them youngins, and get them some immediate help. Picking top 4 of this draft probably wouldn't help much immediately anyway. Outside of the obvious superstud in John Wall you have a whole bunch of wings that aren't really at a "can't miss" talent level IMO. Two names that would be perfect for this team are Aldrich and Cousins. Unfortunately Cousin's may be working his way up to that number 2 spot. I think teams will be a little scared at his vert results come combine time however.

This isn't a new idea.
And it's not a good one either. Morale, experience, and improvement in the form of winning>>>A greater chance at a crap shoot.

I do think that we need another top pick but not by tanking at all. We need to move our MLE guys that snag us a couple extra wins. They are decent players but they are the type of guys you sign when you are close to competing in the playoffs. We get rid of them our young guys get more experience and we get a better pick.
I'm all for moving Garcia, Beno, Nocioni, KT.
If we can get capspace for these guys and we can get a guy like Aldrich or Cousins we will be in great shape. During the summer we won't need to sign any big names because we will already have a basic rotation set with our young guns.
I say move everyone except these guys and build it up from there.
Evans
Martin
Casspi/Greene
Thompson/Brockman
Hawes
thats a solid 7 man rotation but what we need to do is stretch that to 9, so that Brockman is only playing like 15 minutes per game, he's good but his limited game makes him a liability to have on the court for too long.
We then draft Aldrich, I think cousins may be gone when we pick so Aldrich is our guy.
Then we find a 3pt shooting combo guard to back up both guard spots. JJ Reddick for instance. could get him for like 3 mil per year and he would be fantastic for us.
Evans/Reddick
Martin
Casspi/Greene
Thompson/Brockman
Aldrich/Hawes
I think that this is a fantastic young roster it's cost effective and should be great going forward. So yes the kings need another top pick this year but I don't want to tank I want to selectively get rid of guys that don't make us better right now.

No. I can't handle another season like last year. There are just sooo many reasons why winning is better than tanking, but I'm tired and hungover, so I won't explain them right now.
Also, I love Cousins, but I almost guarantee Petrie doesn't pick him even if available.

NNN----- why don't you think he would draft Cousins. He seems like a Petrie guy to me. Highly skilled can do pretty much everything he passes, he shoots well, he rebounds, has a postgame, can put the ball on the floor and drive to the hoop, can play in both the high and low post because of his range going out to about 15ft.
The only issue is the rumors about his attitude. But Petrie hasn't ever really worried about that before. He went out and got Artest for example.

Yeah look at Jason Thompson. If he doesn't like the way Demarcus Cousins acts on the court at 18-19, what's the excuse for Jason Thompson doing it at 24!? Hahaha.
Evan Turner could be an ideal fit next to Tyreke moving forward. I'm actually partial to Wesley Johnson myself. I like his combination of length and strength. He's wiry but he bangs around with PF sized players without much problem.

id rather win but thats just not going to happen with this team. tyreke s a good player but he isnt the player thats going to put us over the top, he cant play pg and he cant play with a pg. martin isnt an ideal fit to play next to tyreke, neither are beno or sergio... so what do you do? the fear that tyreke will blow up and become a megastar elsewhere will keep this team at the bottom of the standings.
we could suck our way to the number 1 pick and then what? tyreke and john wall wont be able to play togther... wall and martin would be a great backcourt but that leads to the real problem... you cant trade a player as good as tyreke, he'll go on and become a 7 time all-star and we might still suck. the real problem is our lack of a true frontcourt, thompson and hawes are not going to be the big man tandem that will lead us to the promise land. thompson is a scrub....
