Post#1 » by idajazz » Tue Feb 16, 2010 7:11 am

Where are the trade rumors? I figured this close to the trade deadline this board and all the others would be buzzing with all sorts of Boozer going here, Boozer going there..........

The Jazz have been too good lately to do anything other then making a trade to get closer to a ring.

Better keeping to years end than giving him away for peanuts.

Exzctly, his bird rights are still an asset, as is losing the salary. With few teams clamouring for Boozer that makes his value in the off season go down. (Or one would think so)

Would you do this trade?

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=ygqu3dc

Boozer + Brewer + Korver for Luol Deng + Tyrus Thomas + John Salmons

Tyrus can be expiring if his option is not picked up by Utah (upto them).
Salmons can also be expiring if he outs out (VERY likely with big 2010 free agency).

No, Salmons won't opt out. Deng is overpaid. Tyrus as an expiring is peanuts.

I've heard no such rumor, but I dislike sports radio.

I heard it on the radio as well and I live here in Salt Lake. I was listening in the car around lunchtime and whatever clowns are on 1280 said it was basically a done deal.

Wait...isnt your schtick that you saw him at the airport, so that means he is being traded? This false rumor is new territory for you.

I saw Salmons and Thomas and Deng hanging out at the Gateway today. They were playing in the Olympic water fountain.

Boozer will not be dealt. Jazz will stand pat, I'm not surprised at all by the lack of trade rumors involving Utah

There's no rumors for 2 reasons:

Utah does not publicize player movement rumors or use the media to manipulate the situation
Utah does not sell papers (or the modern equivalent: bring web traffic)

Are they under the luxury tax yet? If not that would be the reason. I expect we'll all bit more than annoyed if they trade Boozer for scraps at the last minute just to save a few bucks.

Meh, I'm almost 99% sure Boozer stays. Sloan doesn't want it, and unless Miller has been blowing smoke up our ass, he's in it to win it and believe it or not, the Jazz have a chance right now.
