Is Kirilenko available early?

Post#1 » by GooseDiddy » Wed Feb 17, 2010 6:16 pm

Would Utah fans and ownership want Rip Hamilton, Kwame Brown (expiring), and Chucky Atkins (expiring) for Kirilenko?

Detroit fans seem to be drooling over the thought of Boozer for Rip straight up, but it doesn't make sense for the Jazz. How about this deal instead?

AK-47 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Boozer

Ak-47 much more valuable to the Jazz than Boozer. The Jazz have proven that they can win without Boozer and that they cannot win consistently without AK-47. DWILL, Millsap, and AK-47 are untradeable. The other players should be tradeable but management is too conservative.

Ak has been playing extremely well as of late. A huge part of our recent hot streak.

I don't think he's untouchable though.

If I knew how long this streak of good play was going to last I'd have a more definitive answer. But, for now, I'd probably have to say that AK is too vital to our playoff hopes at the moment. He is helping us more than Hamilton would be helping. However, AK's game comes and goes, so who knows how I'll feel in a month.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

For the Jazz: AK (2 yrs) > Rip (3 yrs).

Millsap is not untradeable.

OMG toledo... *sigh*

Goose-AK is by no means "untradeable", but the Jazz want nothing to do with Rip's contract. There is very little incentive for the Jazz to make this trade. You'd have to throw in young players or draft picks. That being said, AK is far more valuable next year. If he is traded, that is when it will happen.

Maybe if Rip shows he can play between now and then there may be a chance, but its unlikely.

Ak-47 is the type of player that is a game changer and that is what his has finally started to do. Without Ak-47, the Jazz are barely a playoff team. I would never trade AK-47 because he and DWILL are the players that make the Jazz a damgerous team in the playoffs. His contract is the problem but at least there is only one year left and the Jazz can resign him at a much more reasonable contract when it expires.

I see a contradiction...

Never? Not for an unprotected 1st round pick from a bottom feeder team, not for LeBron, Howard, Wade. I understand that those are all unlikely but you said never.

Um, no. No one is taking Rip's horrible contract off your hands. Sorry. Especially not for a guy that is playing as well as AK has been the last two months.

If T-Mac who has played little to none this season can fetch a first round pick and a lottery player (potentially) I cant wait to see what AK's expiring can fetch.

That means okur needs to go by tomorrow, so we have some money next year to get some quality players1

Right now I want the Jazz to keep him and later resign him; but I wouldn't say any figure at the moment...
