The rumors flying around point to the Bulls & Knicks in a bidding war for McGrady's contract.

The Chicago rumors have included Tyrus Thomas, Brad Miller & either Salmons or Heinrich. Some are reporting that a pick will likely be included.

The Knicks rumors have been all over the place, but center around Jordan Hill, Jared Jeffries, an expiring & picks. (by some accounts also Clyde Frazier, the rights to the name "Madison Square Garden," Free cable for the entire city of Houston, Central Park, the chicken & rice stand on 56th & parking money )

which do you prefer? What other rumors are out there?

I want the Bulls deal, because according to Feigen the deals are structured the same
(Expirings+1 contract next year + draft picks)...
so it boils down to player value

Brad Miller or. Larry Hughes = Miller
John Salmons or Jarred Jeffries = Salmons
Tyrus Thomas or Jordan Hill= Could go either way
Picks = Uncertain-- CHI has their pick next year / NY doesn't have a pick until 2012
Rights to Pick swap = Very Uncertain because the state of both of these franchises is in the air.

Seems like its obviously the Bulls offer.

Miller fits right into the system and could be resigned for cheap.
Salmons is an offensive minded wing. Obviously needed
Thomas at the very least is an expiring, but has shown value, where Jordan Hill only has 1 more year but has not shown anything yet.

It all comes down to this... How much does Morey value that nasty little P word "POTENTIAL"

The future of NY is much more up in the air than Chicago's:
Gallo/Chandler vs Rose/Noah/Deng/Gibson plus 1st rounder

I'lll take my chances with the NY picks.

Also, Hill is on a rookie deal and younger, Thomas will probably command more money and can walk.

I say NY, we can package the NY assets with our expirings next season for to a team looking to rebuild or with a cheap owner for someone valuable. Let's not forget this season is bonus, so its either get better and get bounced in the playoffs or lottery pick.

i dont see why people want the chicago deal... we are nto contending this year, and their 'prospect' contract is up at the end of the season

Although the complete specifics of the Bulls' proposal could not be immediately confirmed, Chicago has multiple expiring contracts to package in a deal for McGrady's own $22.5 million expiring contract. Chicago's available assets include longtime Rick Adelman favorite Brad Miller, Jerome James' cap-friendly contract and the increasingly coveted Tyrus Thomas, who is being pursued in separate trades by several teams, including New York, San Antonio and Denver.

The Chicago Tribune reported on its Web site Tuesday night that the Bulls were still trying to recruit a third team interested in Kirk Hinrich to help facilitate a McGrady deal, since the Rockets are unwilling to take on Hinrich. One source told ESPN.com that Miller and Thomas are the Bulls most coveted by Houston, which has also resisted the Bulls' attempts to include John Salmons in the trade.

There are some other reports out there that back that up. Woudn't make any sense for the Rockets to take back Salmons or Hinrich, if they don't get at least one first rounder from the Bulls.

Other than his attitude, I like tyrus. He's an athletic big man that can help weak side (something Stromile was supposed to do). I honestly don't know how Hill is doing from NY so I can't be mad if we do get him. My thought is that Morey is holding out for either NY or Chi to throw in a little more before he pulls the trigger. Either way, we're gonna get a steal IMO.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Morey swings some kind of back to back trade. HAHAH so exciting!!!

P.S. Okay after reading some more articles, I think if NY is willing to give up some picks, that would be the best trade. It's becoming very evident the Cavs are going to get Amare so that means he won't be going to NY. NY if they trade away Nate too will be too crappy to win even 10 games. I'm sure Morey is waiting to see what the protection clause will be and with two lottery picks in next two seasons would be huge for us as a rebuilding franchise.

Apparently NY is playing hardball, because of their hesitancy on adding Hill in the deal. If he's in the deal (from my understanding), then the Knicks would want considerable protection on those future picks, which Morey doesn't want to do. Walsh isn't an idiot, but they're more in the "need," situation if they're decided on wanting to go after two max FA's, so it would seem we would have the leverage.

And Grover seems to have a little "T-Macitis," talking a little prematurely, already talking about McGrady potentially playing in the next game against the Sixers, with the Bulls..
