Time for some fun.

Post#1 » by Optimism Prime » Wed Feb 17, 2010 4:44 pm

Okay, guys. I've decided it's time to lighten things up around the trade deadline.

Using ESPN's trade checker, how many more wins can you get this team? http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine

I'll start with a +11, as follows:

Brooks and Battier to the Jazz for Deron Williams
T-Mac to the Grizzlies for Zach Randolph, OJ Mayo, and Rudy Gay
Ariza to the Thunder for Durant.

2010 lineup:
Williams/Mayo/Lowry
Gay/Mayo/Budinger
Durant/Gay/Draft pick
Randolph/ScoLandry
Yao/ScoLandry

Why for the Thunder: Morey is a practitioner of the deepest black magic, and Presti falls under his spell.

Why for the Grizzlies: Um... they made the Gasol trade. We can throw in a 2011 second round pick to sweeten the deal.

Why for the Jazz: Brooks is, um, faster than Williams?

Why for the Rockets: We'd be awesome. Duh.

Let's have some fun. One rule: NO REALISTIC TRADES ALLOWED.
Hello ladies. Look at your posts. Now back to mine. Now back at your posts now back to MINE. Sadly, they aren't mine. But if your posts started using Optimismâ„¢, they could sound like mine. This post is now diamonds.

I'm on a horse.

Grizzlies get: Yao Ming
Grizzlies give: Marc Gasol, Pudding Pops (to make salaries work)
Why? Gotta fill the annual Grizzlies trade.

Atlanta gives: Joe Johnson
Houston gives: Brian Cook, David Andersen, Trevor Ariza, Jermaine Taylor
Why? Atlanta gets younger, and Joe Johnson probably has frequent acid reflux injuries and doesn't change his socks often enough, often causing issues with en masse locker room nausea. The front office is sick of it.

Houston gives Tracy McGrady's husk, Jermaine Taylor
Houston gets LeBron James, Mo Williams
Why? Cavs need to get something for LeBron before he leaves for NY, and Tracy McGrady can fill that second "star" role they've been needing to complement LeBron as well as infusing the team with new young talent in JT, who reminds me a bit of Bo Jackson

Houston Roster:
Mo Williams/Aaron Brooks/Kyle Lowry
Joe Johnson/Chase Budinger
LeBron James/Shane Battier
Luis Scola/Carl Landry
Marc Gasol/Zach 'The Benign Tumor' Randolph/Chuck Hayes/Joey Dorsey

Estimated wins in 2009-2010: Approximately 207
Morey 2020.

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?
A:Ask a stock market analyst or your financial advisor

Trade #1: Trade McGrady, and Dorsey for Knicks 2012, right to swap 2011, Hill, and Hughes.

Trade #2: Trade Hughes, Scola, and Brooks for Paul and Peja

Trade #3: Trade Yao, Budinger, and future pick for Ellis, and Biedrins

Trade #4: Trade Hill, Ariza, and Cook for Amare.

Trade #5: Trade Battier, and Landry for Iguodala.

PG - Paul
SG - Ellis
SF - Iguodala
PF - Amare
Cc - Biedrins

I kinda wanted to make it realistic ;)

We can THEN build it, into the team of dreams, in which we trade Amare, Anderson, Rockets pick, and Knicks pick for Dwight. Trade Biedrins, and Iguodala for LeBron. Then trade Ellis for Murphy, Rush, and a pick. Then trade Rush, fillers, and picks, for Kevin Martin, or we can keep Rush, provides the same role of shooting, with better defense.

PG - Paul
SG - Rush
SF - LeBron
PF - Murphy
Cc - Dwight

Bron wouldn't bolt, and even if he would, Dwight, and Paul would win every championship the rest of the way muhahah.
