Cleveland Acquires Antawn Jamison
The Cavaliers, Clippers and Wizards are in the midst of completing a three-way trade that sends Antawn Jamison and Sebastian Telfair to Cleveland; Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Al Thornton to Washington; and Drew Gooden to Los Angeles. Link

Washington's GM should be fired. Cleveland basically traded the 30th pick in the draft for basically solidifying their status as OVERWHELMING favorites(would take an injury or a Duke/UNLV upset to beat them)to come out the East. The least Washington could do is just keep Big Z to spite Cleveland.

I can't blame the Wiz for getting out from under Jamison's contract.

Seriously... I think the wizards get a great deal here. Jamison is a total waste of money on that roster.

Oh good god. That team is ridiculous now. UGHHHHH
Is it to much to ask for a team that plays hard and cares? Seems so.

Re: Cleveland Acquires Antawn Jamison
Jamison was the pickup I feared for Cleveland because he should slide in and contribute without fuss. I also fear the return of Big Z after buyout. I don't hate this for Washington as they shed Jamison's contract, but I'm not sure they got rid of enough salary to get under the tax threshold this year. Now they can focus on actually playing youth. If I'm Washington I contact Memphis to see if Mike Conley is truly being shopped for an expiring and a pick. I'd forward the Cleveland pick and Mike James for Conley and Hunter's filler contract.
The team that really made out was the Clippers. They dumped all the salary they were trying to peddle in a simple deal for a serviceable big.

^^^ They've already survived gun toting. They are invincible.

Yea I forgot they survived an actual schizo riding across state lines armed to the teeth. What harm could a little duel between gentlemen do?

Re: Cleveland Acquires Antawn Jamison
You know if Big Z gets bought out we should make a run at him. I mean it is probably moot as I'm sure he'll rejoin the Cavs, but if I remember the buyout wranglings of last season the fact we haven't used the MLE and are under the luxury tax means a little extra room to pitch if ownership is okay with it.
He's not very mobile, but he's tall and can stretch the court with his shooting.

It won't happen, the guy is playing for CLE since the beginning, and I am sure he will retire as a Cav.
But it would be a good thing to see, certainly for the first time, a player not returning to his previous team, and more with a player who still has an impact.
I would be all for trying to get him, and even if I am not sure that McGrady (who was saying that if he's bought-out, he would sign with CLE or LAL if they want him) could help at this moment, I would go for him too. Just use the MLE between these two guys, just to be sure they don't go to CLE.

Re: Cleveland Acquires Antawn Jamison
I hope for the thought that Z will not be let go until he can't contribute in the playoffs. That would be very favorable for us, similar to Orlando getting Adonal Foyle after the playoff eligibility deadline.
Why of all people would the Wizards help the Cavs in this league by letting Z go at his own will?
Personally, I think Smoove can take care of Jamison should it be necessary.

Re: Cleveland Acquires Antawn Jamison
Any dollars Z leaves on the table save Washington on their tax bill. I wouldn't expect it to be much, but that's their incentive to do a buyout. Even if he doesn't sign here if we can offer more money than a team that is capped out and with the MLE we should do so publicly. If he returns to Cleveland I want at least hint of a scandal or under-the-table deal.
