And if we signed Amare to Gasol extension, Miami would be desperate to sell the farm to get him, since there wouldn't be any other way.

b/c teams know that they don't have to offer us ANYTHING since they can just sign him in a few months. Risky, risky move guys. If Amare walks for NOTHING then...dayum.

FWIW...a completely unknown Sixers fan (I say unknown because I don't know his credibility) posted that the Amare to Sixers deal is done and should be finalized/announced late tonight/early tomorrow. No details of which players though..

However, we know from our true insider that the Sixers were NOT going to trade Iggy unless they knew FOR SURE that Amare would re-sign. Which means extension talks could be sign&trade now to Philly for Iggy. OR we may have offered Daly/Thad or something like that.

They didn't ruin his value per se. But here we go:

1) They didn't take the Cleveland offer, so they're out
2) By letting Cleveland walk away from negotiations, the Suns lost all their leverage against the Heat, who now have no competition for Amare and can say "Here, take this crap offer or let him walk and we'll sign him in the offseason, since he wants to come here so badly"
3) They didn't continue extension negotiations and pissed off Amare, so now he isn't likely to want to do a sign-and-trade or re-sign with the Suns

Riley isn't stupid. Amare would never get that deal with an expiring CBA. Get be looking at 3 years max.

I dont know what to think about Traxxe, nothing he said in the past month about Amare has shown any "insider information" its just the same info i find when i type in amare trade rumors on google. Still waiting for him to prove himself before i pass judgement though

Well, as of yesterday I would have thought maybe Amare wanted to stay here since he's raised his family here and this has been the only basketball home he's ever known. But now...I don't know if he'll even want to stay.

His heart may want to stay but probably can't overcome the greediness of the Suns to low ball him way below his market value.

Amare staying in Phoenix suprises everyone. Everyone close to the team. Everyone in the media. No one expected Amare not to be traded. Even the people closest to this situation are bewildered. Information is a completely fallable industry. There are cases to be made that EVERYONE involved in this is full of it. ESPN, AZ reporters, myself... all got it wrong.

I never said Amare was going to Cleveland but that was the preferred offer on the table. I had no way ofknowing Kerr ultimately says no.

you are talking about amare stoudemire right? the amare that wants the max

first off, he has to opt out for the suns to lose him right
second the only way he gets max dollars is in he does a sign and trade
third - its still better to let him walk then make a bad trade and not make the playoffs this year

i was okay with trading amare for talent or trading for future cap space. but trading for crap that doesn't get draft choices plus decrease your chances of making the playoffs - thats stupid,. who cares if he opts - dude will go where the money is and the suns will be able to give him the most through sign and trade
