Dodgers need a 3B... (wiretap)

Post#1 » by FNQ » Sun May 6, 2007 5:28 pm

I'm gonna come out and say it.

I've met the guy, he's a likeable guy, and a great defender. He's a former 30 HR, 100 RBI guy.

But it's time to deal Chavy.

Obviously we couldnt get the cream of the crop (Broxton) for Chavy, but we could defenitely get something good, like Matt Kemp?

There's a laundry list of good/decent prospects in LAs system:

Tony Abreu
Delwyn Young
James Loney
Xaiver Paul
Jon Meloan

Would a Kemp + Paul + Andy LaRoche type deal work for A's fans? Might be a bit much for LA fans, but we could include Kennedy or another arm...

^ I agree,it's to early to give up. Sure I would have rather seen some of our younger guys given the chance instead of the guys we traded for,but Snelling could turn out to be a good pick up,I know Cust will play hard every time he steps on the field,so lets see what happens when we get healthy.

Insane... like it was insane to deal Hudson and Mulder...

Its our MO, if you havent noticed by now. Trade the expensive player at peak value. There was NOTHING in there about giving up. There was something about giving up on Chavez... but nice to know I have a stalker monitoring how I feel.

Again, not giving up, getting younger. Getting Kemp is getting a younger, less injured version of Milton Bradley IMO. Xaiver Paul is a decent OF prospect, and LaRoche / Crosby / Scutaro could handle the job at 3B.

Please don't trade Chavy to the Dodgers!

I would look at what kind of deal we can get from them for him. My guess is probably not as much as we fans would want.
