Tyson Chandler Status?

Post#1 » by Butter » Sun Feb 14, 2010 8:11 am

As we approach the trade deadline, I'm curious about Chandler's standing with this team. Is he someone Bobcats would consider trading? If so, what would they want for him? Would expiring deals and future draft picks be enough as a salary dump, or does he carry significant value for this team?

Expirings would be enough.

Would you package him with a pick and some fillers (Flip or DJ) for an expiring that will be bought out? Or is he still not that useless?

If the Bobcats would prefer to keep Nazr over Chandler, here's a trade option that would bring them back Tyrus Thomas:

Basically:

Charlotte: T. Thomas, Kirk Hinrich

Chicago: T. Outlaw, S. Blake, J. Pryzbilla

Portland: T. Chandler, Ajinca

I have no idea if the Bobcats would be willing to take on Hinrich. This deal could be simplified down a lot if the Bobcats sent Nazr to Portland instead of Chandler.

Charlotte: T. Thomas, J. Johnson
Chicago: T. Outlaw, S. Blake, 1st Rd pick (lottery protected)
Portland: Nazr Mohammed

We need to hang onto TC, if we trade him then we will need another center for the playoffs. And we certainly cannot trade Nazr in a deal for TT who isn't very good to begin with. We have no need for Hinrich because he wouldn't get the minutes he's accustomed to and he's not a good outside shooter, something we could use for the second team.

:o  I like TC for Jason Thompson and Kenny Thomas. This would get us through the playoffs with 2 centers and 3 players at the 4. Thompson could be the 4 of the future and Thomas is expiring but still can get us alot of rebounds. If this doesn't work I still feel that Larry will make some sort of move by Thursday. Maybe Diaw to a western conference team for expiring big. With Sterns saying that Bobcats will be sold in 60 days, I believe the trade will hinge on expirings, 1st round pick, and involve a PF coming into us for playoff run. Also think big salary out will be involved somehow if Michael is really in play to buy the team?

Kenny thomas has an expiring contract and Thompson is a young 14/8 big man. Chandler on the other hand is overpaid, has 2 years left, and barely plays 20 games a year. Why the hell should the Kings even consider this?

What has the 12 million dollar a year Tyson Chandler done for us this season that the 1 million dollar a year Ryan Hollins couldn't be doing for us?

The 1 million dollar Ryan Hollins would actually be a productive big man for us. I'm so mad we have Tyson for 1.5 more seasons.

The only thing Tyson's done since he got here was take us out from underneath Emeka's awful contract.
