I'll definitely be rooting for him in the playoffs. I'll have no problem at all with Lebron winning a championship with him. Thanks for being the 1 guy... who we could depend on to give a quality effort and performance game in and game out. Not a superstar - but tremendous durability, tremendous consistency, and a real pro.

Jamison has been the hardest working player for the Wizards since the time of his arrival. He could be called upon to fill any role needed. He always stayed durable and never missed to many game. Can't say the same about other big name players for this team in the last few years. Would have been nice for him to stay with the team that he helped reshape and somewhat revive, but they owed it to him to get him into a better situation than the one they currently have.

Well, I don't think even this can get me to root for the Cavs, but I'm glad AJ has a shot at a championship anyway.

Maybe I was just being a homer, but I never thought AJ got the calls from the refs that he deserved (or that the rulebook implies), especially when he was fouled by Garnett or by any of the Cavs' big men. It will be interesting to learn* whether he gets more calls as a Cav.

* I chose the word "learn" instead of "see", because I'm not sure I'll watch any Cavs games. I am still disgusted by the league's irresponsible overreaction to the Wizards' fouls (real and imagined) on LeBron in the '08 playoffs -- and even more disgusted by the league's inaction regarding his thuggish attack on Blatche in the same game.

I have to admit that I choked-up a bit when they showed AJ driving out of Verizon and then not seeing him on the sidelines. I am very happy for him that he will have a great chance at getting a ring this year and maybe next.

LOL at the announcers about to start crying at the sight of Antwan leaving.

Goodbye Jamison. I will miss your consistency offensively and on the boards. I will not miss your consistency defensively.

I've been a Jamison fan since his GS days. I remember him tearing up at the press conference when the re-signed him to that max contract. I liked him when he was 6th Man of the Year in Dallas and him getting traded here was an exciting moment for me. I won't say I'm "sad" to see him go because I know that this has to happen, but I do regret not being able to see him as part of a Big Three that made a few playoff runs.

The biggest problem is that I can't root for him because I hate LeBron. Well, maybe I'll get lucky and LeBron will sign with somebody other than Cleveland.

I always felt bad posting negatives about Jamison's game because I can say that he's genuinely fan-friendly and a quality human being.

I hope he does win a championship with Cleveland.

It's a win-win for me as far as the Cavs go now. If they lose, Lebron lost. If they win, Jamison got a ring.

The year before Jamison arrived, I only watched a few games. Arenas and Hughes had potential, especially with Jordan out of the way, but the team was pretty lousy and I drifted away. The Stackhouse/Laettner/pick (Harris) for Jamison trade seemed like it could be a bad one. Having nothing else to do, I watched the opening game, on the road against the much better Grizzlies, coming off a 50 win season. Arenas, Hughes, and Haywood (and even Peeler) were suspended, and Etan and Kwame were injured. Nobody on the roster except Jamison. It sucked me back in, watching small ball win that night (little did I know where that would go).

That's one of my favorite memories, the other being the 05-06 series, when Arenas and Butler were injured, and his valiant and futile attempt to drag the Wizards to victory (any victory) in its four game sweep at the hands of the Cavs.

I hated his defense and his chuck, I loved his tricky scoring moves and rebounding, when he was off I shuddered, but when he was on . . . time to move on, but I won't forget Jamison, a very important part of a Wizards team that could have been a contender.

felt kinda sad when i saw steinberg's video in which he seemed about us fans "i loved them more than they loved me".

always loved his weird shots and the way he handled himself. really began to fully appreciate what he brought last year when he was the only guy who clearly gave a damn (and played solid defense). i respect him as a player and a person.

hope he comes back in three years (on a much smaller contract) to contend for another title and would kinda like to see him involved with the team after he retires and maybe (havent thought it through) see his jersey in the rafters.
Until Grunfeld goes there is no rebuild.

So long, Tawn. Good luck in Cleveland and try your hardest to bring some humility to the Queen.

I watched the game on TV tonight. I was sad to not see Jamison playing for the Wizards. I was not really sad about Haywood and Butler leaving the Wizards. To me he was the face of the franchise, even though Haywood played for the Wizards longer.

I wouldn't even say he's that consistent offensively. He was very streaky and when his shot wasn't falling he was a liability out there. He was consistent on the board and always gave it his all. In Cleveland, Jamison will be used as a 3rd/4th option, which is how he should be used in a championship contending team.

I like the fact that he gave it his all. Unfortunately for the Wizards, he usually was worn out by the time the postseason came around. His only successful postseason in Washington really was a meaningless one where Arenas and Butler were out with injuries, I believe he missed several games that season so he was much more fresh.

Of course in retrospect, it's easy to say that the Wizards should have played him in limited minutes. But in 05-06 and 07-08, the Wizards barely made the playoffs as it was. In Cleveland he will be afforded the opportunity to be saved for the postseason.
