LSU

they been exposed by Arkansas and Kentucky which are both worse than Illinois. not to mention they allowed 30+ to Alabama and 20+ to 3 other teams. So according to your logic they are crappier than OSU s defense. I am not going to argue whether OSU or LSU have the best defense as its too close to call but LSU having better defense than OSU doesnt make OSU s defense crap. so go watch some games before making idiotic comments.

Things aren't looking good for Hawaii. Down 21-0 early.

Is Jesse Palmer the best "analyst" that ESPN can get?

Parity in CFB demands playoff system
First the federal government borrowed money; then gave the money to Bank of America; then I borrowed some of that money from Bank of America and gave it to the federal government; then the federal government gave the money back to Bank of America.

I'm not in favour of a playoff system.

I am in favour of scrapping the BCS. I'd like the classic system. There are a few teams equally deserving of playing for the national championship. Why not just put them all in good bowls and let the AP voters decide the best team after, instead of arbitrarily giving only two teams a shot at the title.

For years and years, this is how the championship was decided. Then the BCS was created for financial reasons and to avoid split championships. Well, 2003 and this year proves you can't just have one national championship game to decide to best team. Let's have all the best teams play in January and vote after who looks the most impressive.

I think the National Championship game now has to be (*groan*) Ohio State vs. Virginia Tech, although I'd kinda like it if (*groan*) USC leapfrogged Virginia Tech...which would stand a shot at happening since the Pac-10 is intangibly miles above the ACC. However, if USC is in the discussion, should LSU still be in the discussion?

This is an absolute mess and it's not going to sort itself out easily.

Don't write Hawaii off so early. Brennan has brought them back to within 7 with seconds left in the 1st half.

more i look at it, more i think LSU has to be the #2 team. champion of the toughest conference, destroyed v-tech in the beginning season and two losses came in the triple overtime. Oklahoma is right behind them as one loss came from a last second overtime and the other while their QB was out, and they looked really impressive today. USC is the third option, they are the hottest team along with Georgia.

Fortunate Illini appear headed for Rose Bowl
http://www.suntimes.com/sports/colleges ... 02.article
From 2-10 to Pasadena, the stars are aligning for Illinois.

By winning seven more games than they did last year, the Illini (9-3) put themselves in position for a New Year's Day bowl trip. And now Illinois is in line for its first Rose Bowl trip since the 1983 season, thanks to Saturday's results.

Boston College's loss to Virginia Tech cleared the way for Illinois to move into the top 14 in the final BCS standings today. Then West Virginia's shocking loss to Pittsburgh cleared the way for Ohio State to move into the national championship game, leaving a Rose Bowl spot open for Illinois.

Rose Bowl officials have the option to choose among several teams, but Big Ten sources indicated they have been assured that Illinois will be selected today if Ohio State moves up and Illinois is in the BCS pool.

I really hope Hawaii loses so Georgia doesn't have to play them in the Sugar Bowl. We don't gain anything from that game unless we blow them out. Even then people won't really care. A modest win against Hawaii gets you no respect. A loss shames your entire conference.

If OSU loses the title game, the Big 10 should get a special kind of probation where there barred from subsequent title games until they start beating good teams out of the conference again.
