OT: Miami Situation
So with the Trade Deadline over and the Heat failing to the make any sort of significant to the improve their roster, I would think that Wade is becoming more and more frustrated with his current situation in Miami. Cleveland made a trade and acquired Jamison from the Wizards, and there is no arguing that Jamison will most definitely push cleveland to that next level. But the Heat haven't done anything significant since the JO Marion swap 1 year ago. Wade is probably extremely frustrated after he repeatedly asked Riley to get him some help. I think that Wade could end up leaving the Heat with the Miami getting nothing in return. Discuss.

He won't just leave. If he wants to change teams it will be part of a sign and trade deal.

It's true. Wade will probably be gone. New York is clearly making a push for one of the superstars with the Darko for Cardinal swap so i think now with Jamison in Cleveland, Bron will ost likely stay and Wade will go to NY. The pairing on Bosh and Wade is the most logical if 2 superstars are to play together in 2010 so maybe Miami is set ongettng Bosh? Any chance of Wade coming to TO?

They'll probably get one of Boozer, Amare or Bosh in the offseason with their capspace, then trade Beasley for more help. If they can do that I think Wade is going to stay.

I think he'd be nice in the Chi. If they managed to trade Deng for him, Bosh would (should) follow.

bosh has always loved the colour red, coffee, and curling. and he swears that scraping the windshield of his car in the powerful winters of chicago and wisconsin was the best workout possible for his jumpshot, and thinks that not having to do this in miami is the cause of his 28 3pt%.

Miami somehow managed to take a perfect situation, and screw it up so bad. I don't see Wade staying.

Re: OT: Miami Situation
by next season wade is going to be 29, and with his injury history, he'll have at best 2-3 superstars seasons left in him.......riley has just wasted the last 2 years waiting for 2010, when you have someone like wade he should have done absolutely everything to bring in a second star, even if it meant trading beasley or giving up expiring contracts......

Miami might be making a play for a couple of those second-tier guys who won't command the maximum, but will be close: Boozer, Amare, Johnson. Wouldn't be surprised if they end up with two of them.
Why aren't more teams using this strategy? I mean, really, you want to try to get LeBron James? When was the last time a GOAT-quality player signed as a free agent? Shaq?

Yeah it has... clearly Riley's 2010 plan hasn't convinced Wade as he clearly demanded help NOW... when you look at James in Cleveland and Bosh both Toronto and Cleveland have made significant changes to try and keep their main guys happy where as Miami has stood around waiting for 2010

Re: OT: Miami Situation
If Miami doesn't sign Bosh, LeBron and to a certain extent Miami there is no reason for him to stay. He's older than the other 2003 guys and more injury prone chances are this is his last deal in which he is the centrepiece of a team.

if i were Wade, would the signing of Boozer be enough to make me stay?
Boozer will go to the Knicks, whose master plan will fail them so badly that they have no choice but to overpay for broken-down Boozer

With all of the cap space floating around this off-season, those guys you mentioned may be second-tier talent, but they'll be max-money guys. A team like New York might completely miss the boat on the top talent and decide to throw what they've got at any of those three.
Actually, Johnson's getting max money no matter what.

I don't think he will. I think it'll just be Bosh, LeBron, and Wade. Johnson may be a better player than Bosh right now, but Bosh is a top three PF/C right now, and in no way should Johnson be making the same as Wade or LeBron. Considering the CBA and cap issues over the next couple years, I don't see a summer with four or more max contracts. It just completely destroys any chance the owners have at negotiating a fair CBA.

Yea I agree with you that Joe Johnson is not a max player like wade or lebron but if the NYK fail to sign one of the top 3 free agents in 2010 they could very well be tossing around max contracts to JJ Amare and Boozer

That's a great point. Even if Miami is able to sign or trade for a decent player, it's not going to take them to the finals. If Wade truly wants to win another championship, his best bet would be to jump ship. Chicago has much better talent than Miami.
Bosh on the other hand is still 3 years younger than Wade. He could try to win a ship in Toronto with him as "the guy". If it doesn't work out, he is either traded prior to his contract running out, or signs with a contender as a 32 year old veteran. He's got lots of time.

* Props to the man, the myth, the legend......TZ.

I hope you're right, but remember, the Knicks could care less about a "fair CBA". They've got money to make and money to burn.
