I think they’ll win one of the Pacers games, one of the Nets games, one of the Knicks games, maybe one end of the Bucks, Bobcats, or Bulls games, and few more (Golden State, maybe sweep the Nets). 6-10 wins, no more than 3 on the road. It’s good that there are so many games (23, arguably a few more) against teams fighting for playoff position.

Yes, four in five games overall! Just enough to get some people talking before we fail out the final week.

I'm thinking 11-20. Not as bad as many are predicting. Overall, I think the team will be competitive most nights. Too much inconsistency and inexperience to close out games. March schedule is brutal. The only reason I'll pay any attention is to see if Blatche, McGee and Young can show anything.

The beginning of March is just a brutal. DET is the only team out of the play-off race until they play Memphis.

Howard and Singleton will give more defense than Jamison and Butler. McGee and Blatche will finishes in the paint, above the rim, and with mid range shots that must be defended. McGee will average 17-18 ppg, easily.

Foye will become fourth quarter Foye, and he, and Howard will play like they're in a contract year.

Boykins won't have to pound the ball as much because guys like Young will be out in transition.

Wizards will go 12-19, at least.

. . . but hardly any "Wizards' winning streaks" (defined as winning 2 out of the last 3).

I would predict many loses...but when has this team done anything right. Watch them even get tanking wrong.

Sadly that looks like a soft schedule to me. That said, it wouldn't have mattered if we'd made the proper tanking moves... Miller and Howard out.

CCJ, you know I love you man. :)
If McGee avgs 18 ppg, we'll win more than 12.
But that's not very likely. 12-13 ppg I think would be
an optimistic number. But I don't think 10-12 wins is
out of the question even with the brutal MAR schedule.
Worst case - 8-9 wins; best case 14-15 wins.
Blatche could average that much (17-18) and possibly more
making his contract look like one of the best non-rookie
deals in the league.

we're 2 lucky events from respectability again:
1 - Gil comes back and is even better than he was this year
2 - we get a fortunate bounce of the fictional ping-pong balls
and land a pick that we parley into a Turner/Wall or something close
to that.
3 - less likely path back, one of our later picks becomes a stud
much sooner than anyone thought.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... eja01.html

Per-36 he's averaged 15.4 and 9.3 as a rookie, and that was with nobody passing him the ball.
Now, without Jamison and Butler and Haywood; but instead with Miller and Foye and Blatche, Javale's got excellent passers who are all threats to score themselves around him. I think he'll be open and pretty unstoppable, particularly because he's got fresh legs and a lot of bigs are wearing down.

As a rookie, McGee had three 18 point games, and each one took 22-26 minutes. He had 14 last night in 23 minutes, and that was with him missing 5 FTs. I think Javale's easily a 17 ppg scorer, if he plays 30 minute or more, under these circumstance.

I love going out on a limb. I know this sounds absurd. However, if you look back at preseasn, McGee scored a ton of points in a short amount of minutes. I don't see why he can't do that all the time.

(And if I'm wrong but he plays strong and averages something like 12 and 7 with 3 blocks, how bad is that?) :)

I would like McGee to put up nice numbers, but I'm more interested in him developing some sense of court IQ. Learn to be in the right spots on the court, set good solid screens, make the right defensive rotations, etc.

Hopefully, we see better decisions in addition to impressive numbers.

No tanking necessary, the remaining schedule should put us in the bottom 5 with a decent shot at getting picks 1 or 2, just like last year :)

several things I would point at to argue against a scoring avg as gaudy as 17-18.

can he play enough min without foul problems?

NBA C's just don't average that much generally speaking

You can't only look at his best games and say he'll start doing that reguarly.

I'd say those numbers are reachable in a year or 3, but we won't see an AVERAGE
like that this year. No way. I'll be the first to say I was wrong and he was amazing
if he proves me wrong.

I'd be quite happy if he averaged that 12-7-3 this year. I'd be even happier
if he played 30 mpg and wasn't badly schooled every night by the last 5-10 games.

Al Jeff just abused him scoring. I don't remember him stopping him at all.

Put me down for 8-23.

I don't really care what the record is though as long as the young guys get to play (for better or worse). I'm particulary interested in seeing how Blatche handles being a primary option for an extended period and if McGee can start to get a clue with extended minutes.

Personally, I don't expect much from Young and can't wait until he's gone.

Would like to see if Howard is worth signing to a reasonable contract as well.

I'm going to base my prediction on their track record. They are currently undefeated, so I'll say 31-0.

:D
