According Marc Stein Rockets tried to trade Battier, Luis Scola,Brian Cook + couple draft picks for Amare this morning?

Doesn't sound like Morey. It was probably Cook and Taylor.

I think I call this BS from Marc Stein, why we risk our-self to have possible half year rental of Amare? It's not so Morey, maybe just another smoke bomb setup for something even bigger this summer.

would have been a good deal - even if Amare decided to leave the S&T return would have been steep.
Morey spoke on the radio (610am) today saying the picks were nice but they "might utilize them sooner for players." - this would have done that - he also went on to mention that he thought Rox were in better position for a max FA (though he did say he doubted any moved) because they would move on a S&T and now Rox have enough talent to deal in that scenario

They were discussing this on 610, I remember one of the host, Warner or w.e his name was say the Suns had contact the Rockets about it.

Yep. The half-year rental makes absolutely no sense to me. My guess is that we're targeting someone better than Amare. My guess is Chris Bosh.

Maybe we could get a S&T'd Amare this off-season for something like Jefferies+ Hill+ our 2011 swap pick+ NYK's 2012+ Battier(buyout).
1)First we draft the best player available at our draft spot.
2)We would resign Scola and Lowry for around 7-10 million combined. And maybe do Hayes's TO is for around 2 mill.
3)Trade Jefferies+ Hill/or newly drafted player/+ our 2011 swap pick+ NYK's 2012+ Battier for Amare.

Correct me if im wrong but I think Battier would be able to sign back with us after 30 days. And from what Ive seen on the Suns board, Amare would sign for less than the max if he could get contract security(long contract), but PHX is reluctant to give him anything more than 3 year deal. A 5-6 year contract starting around 14-15 million should get it done. Amare would be under contract until he's 32 or 33. We probably wouldn't want him any older then that anyways. With this trade we dont really add any extra salery.

This would be our teams rotation next year.

Brooks/Lowry
Martin/Chase/Taylor
Ariza/Battier(resigned)
Amare/Scola/Hayes
Yao/Amare/Anderson/Hayes
+ our 2010 draft pick to fill in where needed

We become an bonifide contender. And when Yao sits. Brooks, Martin, Ariza, Scola, and Amare has enough speed, scoring, and athleticism to outscore any team in the league. No double teams would be possible and we'd make a killing at the FT line. Then we could put in our best defensive players to keep that lead with Lowry, Ariza, Battier, Hayes or Amare, and Yao. We'll get our great D back and still have a go to guy with Yao.

If there are any big holes in my breifly thought deal please let me know.
