Yes tonight after football and their postgame show. Then, ESPN will announce the other bowl games at 8:00 Eastern.

Good thread, thanks man!

I saw some of the early Bowl bid acceptances, nothing real surprising. Once again the Liberty Bowl should be an exciting shootout--if any of y'all ever get a chance to go, it's a great time and almost invariably the highest-scoring bowl.

AP Poll

1. OSU
2. LSU
3. Oklahoma
4. Georgia
5. Va Tech
6. USC
7. Missouri
8. Kansas
9. Florida
10. Hawaii

Happy that the favorite for the 2nd spot based on that is one of the two teams I think should get it, unhappy that the other team (USC) is ranked 6th.

Also would really like Kansas thrown out of the top 10. They clearly shouldn't be treated like a typical big conference 1-loss team and as much as I rag on Hawaii, Hawaii deserves a BCS bid before Kansas easily.

Rivals.com has what I believe to be the obvious bowl selections.

National Championship: OSU vs. LSU
Orange Bowl: VT vs. WVU
Fiesta Bowl: OU vs. Kansas
Sugar Bowl: UGA vs. Hawaii
Rose Bowl: USC vs. Illinois

http://collegefootball.rivals.com/conte ... CID=746471

It kind of sucks the year played out this way, but that's the way it is.

NC = LSU vs OSU
Rose = Ill. vs USC
Sugar = Hawaii vs Georgia
Orange = VT vs WV
Fiesta = Oklahoma vs Kansas

Are my predictions.

Anyone else really bothered by how little credit Illinois gets? And how Ohio State's loss to them doesn't look nearly as bad as it did at the time? They and Missouri are the only teams to lose to only ranked teams.

I hope that WVU-VT Orange Bowl comes to fruition--those schools are pretty close together and IIRC used to play each other just about every year.

I'm probably more of a Rose Bowl fan than anything else, and I like the Big 10/Pac 10 thing, but if the Rose Bowl has the chance to get Georgia, the gap is too big for any reasonable person to pass up. Hope they're reasonable. (Confirm I'm understanding: OSU's the #1 seed, so Rose Bowl gets 1st pick of at large yes?)

What's the rationale behind Kansas? Aside from the OU-Kansas are in the same conference and another option would be ASU who is local, is Kansas just getting the nod because the bowl with the last pick doesn't wan't OU-Miss III?

The Rose Bowl CANNOT choose Georgia.

I have explained this many times.

It's the Iowa rule from 2002.

It's unfortunate because USC/UGA would be by far the best bowl game on paper. Too bad LSU had to win yesterday. Otherwise Georgia would have a great chance at the NC or Rose Bowl.

Illinois beat a potential national champion. They are a very underrated team and they have a shot at winning it all next year if Rashard Mendenhall returns for one more year which I think he will.

I hope Florida excepts a bid to go to the Outback Bowl, so they play Wisconsin. I'm sure Wisconsin would get the living daylights knocked out of them, but I'd still love to go see it up in Tampa.

:lol: Oh, so I just wasn't paying attention when you told me this all those other times? Please explain it to this poor fool you genius you.

My understanding of the rules:

1. National championship game gets top 2 teams.
2. Other BCS bowls get they're contracted teams (Rose Bowl gets Pac 10 & Big 10 champs, Sugar gets SEC, etc).
3. Drafting of at large teams goes 1) Bowl attached to #1 seed 2) Bowl attached to #2 seed 3) Pre-determined ordering which rotates to average out between the bowls.

Iowa 2002? Rose Bowl couldn't have OSU, so they got to pick an at large team. Iowa was Top 5 in the nation and in the Big 10 so they were the obvious pick. I didn't think there was any mystery there. What's your recollection?

when are they gonna release the selections?
First the federal government borrowed money; then gave the money to Bank of America; then I borrowed some of that money from Bank of America and gave it to the federal government; then the federal government gave the money back to Bank of America.

Orangle Bowl. Eh better than nothing. A V-Tech/WVU game will be nice. I have a lot of friends from my high school who attend V-Tech now. Gonna be a lot of trash talking :nod:

A bowl choosing a replacement team may not select any of the following:

A. A team in the NCG;
B. The host team for another BCS Bowl;
C. When two bowls lose host teams, then the bowl losing the number one team may not select a replacement team from the same Conference as the number two team, unless the bowl losing the number two team consents.
