Beside the discussion about Amare....

A ton of calls are made, but go nowhere, but I guess I owe you one. You reminded me of this one: The Rockets were very much in on talks for Marcus Camby but could not get the Clippers to budge off their demand for Kyle Lowry. I heard a lot of teams called about Scola and more about Chase Budinger. I'm sure more talks will surface, but most are just talk. -- Jonathan)

Actually, I knew that they wanted Martin for months and mentioned him in about every trade story I wrote and I believe in a large front-page graphic we ran. I did not know that the Kings had relented on their refusal to move Martin. I might find out during the day when that changed, but it definitely changed from the position they held for a long time. For that matter, the Rockets also wanted Andre Iguodala. The Sixers refused to move him and did not change their mind. If they had, as the Kings eventually did, I would not have known in advance because I am not a fortune teller or a mind-reader. -- Jonathan)

Also, supposedly Amare for Scola+Battier+Cook + Picks... I see this being the offseason move the team makes... DM specifically mentioned having the capabilities of a sign and trade this offseason.

I think that it's kind of a red flag that despite the package the Rockets were offerring (which was very nice, it seems - way more than I'd have liked to see them pay), the Suns were insistant on not doing the physical that the Rockets wanted for Amar'e.

that would be the worst trade since the Barkley trade. Amare and Yao together would be a cluster of **** inside the post. Scola can atleast spread the floor.

I'd rather use the MLE on Haywood and call it a day.

Did you not just read what you wrote?

Ckuster inside the paint, yet you want Haywood. You've probably never watched Amar'e. He's a jumpshooter/driver, not really much of a post-game. He's game from about 18 feet and in, can consistently hit the mid-range jumper, and get to the line.

Amare is good but we give up too much in that trade. I know with martin, battier or Ariza becomes somewhat expendable but come on. Using it on a guy that might not even be here next year is a big risk. Especially on a guy that doesn't play defense. I'd rather target a guy like Bosh who's from texas, that can play defense and inside the paint. When Yao goes down again, would you rather have bosh in there or Amare?

Even though we'd have to give more for Bosh, the benefits are greater with less risk IMO.

As a Toronto fan, I believe Bosh, should he want to leave (and I am not convinced he is), would rather go to Houston than Miami. He's not a party animal, so South Beach holds little appeal to him. He's been pretty open about not being a New York kind of guy either. And Bosh would want to leave in a dignified manner because the organization has been first rate with him. Beasley holds little appeal to Toronto and Miami's picks would not be as good as the NYK picks in all likelihood. So I wouldn't assume Houston has to take a back seat to Miami.
