Player reactions for Brewer trade....

Didn't see a thread dedicated to this, so here goes. Some Twitter posts today coming from stuff the players said:

@tribjazz Williams said the flight from New Orleans to Oakland yesterday was "probably one of the quietest flights we've had."

@tribjazz Deron Williams: "I think if we’d make a trade it would be something a little different than that...." "...You look at all the teams that are getting better around the West and we essentially get worse, if you ask me.” Since he was so frustrated, Deron was asked if the trade affected his long-term thinking about the Jazz. He didn't hesitate in answering: “That’s why I signed a three-year deal.”

Agreed with him. We didn't get better, we got worse. We possibly upset team chemistry now. Were we going to be able to beat CLE/LAL/ORL in a 7-game series before the trade? No, definitely not after. The team didn't try to get better, just slash payroll regardless of what BS they spin it as.

Interesting. I think team chemistry more than anything is what could make this deal a back breaker, and it's obvious DWill is PISSED. You don't **** around with the kind of thing the Jazz had going. It's going to be VERY VERY interesting to watch him and the rest of the squad over the next week.

As I said in the other thread, Boozer is a better leader for this team than D-Will. Deron needs to grow up and learn when to shut his mouth. He can dislike this deal all he wants, but he shouldn't air those frustrations to the press. If he's going to be the leader of this team he needs to rally the guys and move forward.

I agree to a point on this, but DWill is simply reiterating how he, and the other players feel of the trade. Did the Jazz get better? No. Did they screw with chemistry? Absolutely. It was a money deal, end of story the same as the Maynor deal. Let's be honest, who's the better backup PG? Maynor or Price? Maynor by a long shot. Contrary to what management has said about not slashing payroll but rather paying what it takes to win, they've proven quite the opposite. Deron's calling them on it and the Jazz better worry about it because he is the franchise.

Deron can sulk all he wants, but what this will ultimately come down to is if we keep winning, it won't matter. KOC better be praying that we don't start losing though, because that will only make things worse for a guy like DWill that wears his emotions on his sleeve more than he should. He needs to realize that it's the nature of the sport and it's not his money on the line.

So true..

I understand why he's upset... Brewers contract was not BAD..they were friends and the Jazz were winning, Brewer wasn't doing anything wrong. But at the same time with Matthews outplaying brewer at times and Boozer coming back when he was publicly saying he was planning out opting out screwed up the numbers and plans - there's not much the Jazz can do about it. Let him walk for nothing or get a pick now in return and free up Korver (who CAN shoot) *shrugs*. KOC made a unpopular move but for the long term he made the right choice. Brewer was a liability at times on offense.

Anyway D Will hasn't been playing terrific either..he needs to bring his game and stop talking and bad-mouthing the Jazz FO.

Come on D-Will. Step up and be a man. Lead the squad you are supposed to be leading rather than crying over spilled milk. Deron's leadership took yet another hit in my eyes. Wasn't there stories in the papers about how much he loves it in Utah in the past weeks? Was all that lies too since he signed his 3 year deal long before this?

That's idiotic to say Boozer is a "phony". Boozer said, "we got to win the game, we don't have time to be sad, we have to play. We all wish Ronnie was here, period" I think the reactions show which has a grasp for the task at hand. Deron saying something like "that's why I signed a 3 year deal" is weak and immature. Boozer stepped up and said essentially that no one liked it, but we have to go out and win. Deron's attitude showed that this effects how he'll approach the game and the success of the team. Which is better?

You can't say that the team got worse. They haven't played a game. I am not discounting chemistry. But I do think that the chemistry can still be there. I think what we'll see now is how much heart do these guys have...

In Deron's defense, the question he was asked was "How does this affect your long term standing with the Jazz?" and he answered it truthfully. If the team isn't a winner at the end of three years, he'll go where he can win. The Jazz need to work this off-season the start putting the pieces around him that will help this team get over that hump.

it might have better if KOC conculted DWILL, like the CAVS did with Lebron, and told DWILL this is why we might make a trade like this and even told Brewer that we dont want to trade you, or anyone else, but anything can happen. The Jazz had talked about this deal for one month so there was plenty of time for KOC to approach DWILL and Brewer.

DWILL is kind full of himself so he needs someone to feed his ego. Git ot take the bad with the good with DWILL. Reason I say DWILL is full of himself, I dislike his actions at the Allstar lacking humility by saying he should have been there for years and will be there for years.

And there it comes the time when fans have to hear the franchise dude kind of "menacing" the Jazz because the organization that allow him to grow and be a star and a millionaire traded his "little brother"?
This is, by no means, the leader i want for my team.
I hope it's just a case "frustration management" and If I see a minimun sign of a let down in his game (which actually has not been THAT superb...) then I will start asking KOC to trade him...
I'm starting to regret that back in time I wanted Boozer gone; dude has obviously matured and right now is by far a better leader.
