:D

Thats without Al Thorton, so they whould be able to win 33 or 34 of the remaining 31 games :)

Well, if they win 30 more games, my preseason prediction would still stand at 48 wins.

As long as we lose enough games to have a top 4 pick, I don't care how much we win... I just want to see Blatche grow into being an reliable post player, whether it be as the #1 option this year or the #2/3 next year...

I thinking the bottom line to this predictions thread is McGee.

We don't have a starting center since we let go of Haywood and that leaves us with McGee and almost of nothing of quality to back him up except Blatche who needs to be playing PF.

If he learns quickly and figures out some way use his advantages - long, athletic, leaps, blocks over his disadvantages... poor shot selection, weak post positions and a little clueless and fouls... then we stand a chance.

If not, then Blatche has to play center and that takes away some of his advantages and the teams advantages of having him at PF with a center. God I hate that we let Haywood go. Why couldn't we have just move AJ and CB right now and Gil later and kept Haywood. We could have been light years ahead of schedule for rebuilding with Blatche playing straight up PF and Haywood at center.
Add a Wade, Melo, Durrant or McGrady and your right in the hunt.

Even with Haywood we needed a another center to ride the bench .. a Berto type only a little better. So now we need a back up 2nd center and a Berto replacement.

So our record I feel is most directly connected to how McGee does. From there, it's going to be about PG. While we don't have who we probably want, we can at least get by with Foye, mini me and MM sharing the roll.

So while moving CB and AJ was good, we took a step back at center and have the same problem we always had... We need more at center, we need a PG and we need to move Gil. I like the new guys and the deeper squad but I think we could have done better by keeping Haywood.

People were really down on EG and now a lot are really up on him. I'm in the middle. Hard to figure out what he could have done before given Abe was own and now he doesn't really have one so it was mostly about getting under the cap while moving AJ and CB.

But here we are and McGee is the key given this roster so lets see what he can do. We need to know if we need a starting center next year or a back up. But what I do know is that we need to add someone at center.

Given this roster, the only thing that has changed for me is I would have said the pieces we have to keep are Haywood, Blatche and McGee and know I would say Blatche and McGee with an eye on AT and Singleton but Blatche is the only starting piece I think we know we would keep.

J Howard goes down and we beat a hot Chicago. Out rebounded the best rebounding team

The Wizards are fine with Blatche/McGee in the middle. Teams can't scout extreme length.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Haywood was as good as gone already. We lost him for his last 31 games here.

I seriously doubt we would have been able to entice him to re-sign. I'm not
happy about it,but I think that's the truth.

On the plus side, McGee will get significant minutes and we'll
have a MUCH better idea by the end of the season how much
we need or don't need another true C.

http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=300222027

McGee 22 mins2-4 3 rebounds 2 fouls against Chicago
AB 41 minutes

Look like Flip playing some Dray a center with AT and Singleton next to him over McGee and AB

You would think McGee would have gotten at least 26 minutes but 22 minutes is better than what he was getting. Seems to be what Flip is going to play him if you look over the last 4 games.

Singleton is getting the same. 20 Min
AT is getting around 30 minutes
