It's a business. The Jazz let Ronnie go, but it also meant they got to keep Millsap. Chances are the Jazz weren't going to resign Ronnie in the offseason and they got a first rounder out of it.

Millsap + 1st rounder>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Brewer/Maynor.

Yup. Also as it turns out: Millsap's jumpshot >>> Brewer's jumpshot. Who would've guessed that one?

I'm saying this this trade is a direct result of keeping Paul Millsap. With out Millsap there is no reason the Jazz make this trade yesterday.

I wonder if DWILL would be upset if the Jazz salary dump Boozer instead for say for Haslem and Q-Rich? Sonething tells me he would be less upset. I think he is upset because Brewer was a good friend.

I just don't think the Jazz got worse in this trade like Deron said. All this does is open up minutes for Wes Matthews who I think is the best SG on this team. He's clearly the best defender, and he's the best combo slasher/shooter player. I hope he gets 25 minutes a game now.

Wasn't D-will the one lobbying for the jazz to resign CJ Miles

You gotta wonder if it wasn't for D-will CJ could be in OKC right now and Brewer in Utah

Gothapotamus wrote:That's idiotic to say Boozer is a "phony". Boozer said, "we got to win the game, we don't have time to be sad, we have to play. We all wish Ronnie was here, period" I think the reactions show which has a grasp for the task at hand. Deron saying something like "that's why I signed a 3 year deal" is weak and immature. Boozer stepped up and said essentially that no one liked it, but we have to go out and win. Deron's attitude showed that this effects how he'll approach the game and the success of the team. Which is better?

You can't say that the team got worse. They haven't played a game. I am not discounting chemistry. But I do think that the chemistry can still be there. I think what we'll see now is how much heart do these guys have...

I agree, Boozer's comments were much more appropriate. The only thing he could have said to make it better would have been to mention that we have other guys who can play well at that spot and give them credit. But everyone knows that.

I think Boozer is the better leader. D-Will also went public with his 'vacation' comments in 2007 also, he should have learned from that. Sometimes you see that D-Will has poor body language on the court too. I always think that Boozer was great when being interviewed on TV (not off the record comments that people want to explode over). I'm totally expecting a blowout loss tonight.

And if I were Korver, Matthews, or Miles, I'd be secretly thrilled right now, especially Matthews since he's looking to get paid.

If those 3 have any competitiveness at all they should be thrilled to have an opportunity to play more minutes. Not worried about who's best friend is who.

Deron kind of had a similar thing when Dee Brown was let go several years ago, didn't he? He is veteran enough I expected more out of him.

I have to say that I find it hilarous that everyone killed me eariler in the year for calling D-Will out for not being a good leader and now everyone is calling him a bad leader because of these comments. I love you guys, you always prove me right in the end. :D

I think a good leader is one who stands up for his compadres on the court when the FO makes poor business choices to help the bottom line instead of improving the team.

I find it hilarious that you guys consider a 'yes' man to be a good leader.

That's not what I said. He should be a "yes" man to the media. Internally he should question the FO's decisions and even confront them. He should also commiserate with his teammates and help them deal with the change. Whining and sulking to the media accomplishes nothing. It's the passive aggressive way of communicating with the front office.

CB, get a grip. It's as if regardless of what happens you want to whine and complain. Do you propose that Booze was a yes man? I think Booze played it right and proper. Speak of missing what you lost yet rallying around what you have. I think Booze has been a douche in the past, as in this summer and his shenanigans, but he shine above DWill on this one and demonstrated that he "gets it". All Deron wants is to "get his". Brew is a class act and a good guy. To think this was easy for the FO is foolish at best. They had to make a hard decision that they thought was in the best interest of the franchise.

Well, being critical of the team leader Deron is not helping rally the team guys... you are fans and a part of this Utah Jazz team too. Deron needs your support regardless of what he says or does, just like the FO.

If he can't be critical, then you shouldn't either... now let's all get together and wave Jazz flags and this uncomfortable episode will pass and we can forget about it.

I think we'll miss Brewer but in the end this is gonna help the log jam we had at the 2-3 spots, management knows this, Sloan knows this, the players just have to get used to it. I doubt you are gonna hear much complaining from Korver/CJ/Matthews in about a week.

Deron said it best earlier this year in fact "winning fixes everything"

I sustained the same thing many times, and I still think his game is really great but should be better at this point.

There is a difference between not understanding or being critical of the management on certain things and lashing out in anger with stuff like "thats why I signed a 3 year deal" and things like that. How is that different than Boozer saying he is opting out? Boozer seems to have come around and appears to have seen he doesn't get ahead by using the media to push his personal agenda. Hopefully Deron quickly learns the same lesson. How can you lead a group when you are seeking to divide the players against the front office? Especially when part of your lashing out is threatening to leave the team when your contract is up?

I've never been a too down on Deron guy but this episode has jaded me a bit. Chris Paul didn't go off like this when the Hornets have made many more moves much less justifiable and the team has obviously performed worse as a result. Heres to hoping that just like the multiple Malone conflicts this one too passes.
