Brooks+Battier+2 1st pks for chris paul

Post#1 » by Gaige » Fri Feb 19, 2010 1:25 am

finally we got the piece to chase chris paul whenever he is available. hopefully next year this time.

aaron brooks + shane battier +jarred jeffries + 2011 hou picks + 2012 ny picks + fillers = chris paul + fillers

considering new orleans depressing financial situation, we have the pieces to outbid anyone even we are at disadvantage for being in the same division.

Isn't brooks+battier what you offered for Rubio, an unproven rookie? Two 1sts make up the difference between Rubio and the best point guard in the league and a hall of fame talent?

I don't think Paul is compeltley untouchable, but the Rockets don't have the right combination of players to get something done. You have a great future and a lot of young talent, but no stud young prospect.

and jeffries, which is expiring contract next season, actually we could add more expiring contracts if new orleans demands more.

for the past decade, no top 3 picks have been traded and other than that no one could offer more than we have now.

Doesn't sound like a horrible deal actually. Brooks + Battier for Rubio certainly was. Paul's injury considerations and that the surgery he had supposedly has career ramifications would be involved.
Morey 2020.

Thats not going to happen. New Jersey could offer a much better package featuring with all their young talent, plus they wouldnt have to see Paul 4 times a year & not compete against him for a playoff spot in the future. Wishful thinking..

However, a Mavs poster did bring up how a package of Jefferies/Battier/Brooks/picks can probably get you a guy like Amare or Bosh this summer. Well played by your GM...

How does New Jersey compete with New Orleans for a playoff spot?

Also LOL at them being able to offer a better deal than Houston.

Yeah, not sure what NJ'd offer. Harris + Lopez? :-P

1. NJ balks - "TWO franchise players?"
2. NO balks - "Yeah, cause they've gotten you so far..."

CLee and CDR both seem so delightfully marginal (optimistic view).
Of course the Nets could always throw in Yi. *snicker*

brooks is a proved 30+pt player in playoff against lakers while all new jercy got are unproven selfish crybabies.

the only chance is new jercy throw in their lottery picks, with 25% to be no.1. but again for the past decade, no top 3 picks has been dealt to another team. i do not think they will throw in their lottery picks, and our bid is way better than theirs without their lottery

Its Derick Fisher. Every point guard in the league has his career day against Fisher.

however they need to see his rings first. four rings says a lot. and one can score 30+ over a champion says a lot also.

new jercy players can not even do that in regular games.
