Hammers: Bobcats Vs Cavs

Post#1 » by BigSlam » Sat Feb 20, 2010 2:30 am

Image: Boris. Set the tone the entire game, played accountable ball, did a LOT of things that don't show up on the stat sheet.

Image: Jax. When he shuts his gob, slows it down and plays at a deliberate pace he can be damn near impossible to stop.

Image: T2. You're legit young fella. No doubt. 12 boards and 6 blocks in 25 mins of your debut game? Keeper.

I honestly am not sure how to vote tonight. I'll give it a shot, based on when we pulled away in the 3rd:

Gold: Jax
Silver: Diaw
Bronze: I dunno... Tyrus, Felton, DJ, Wallace... they could all deserve it. I'll go with Felton to piss slam off

HM: DJ, Wallace, Tyrus

I've never felt inclined to do Hammers before, but I was so impressed by Boris tonight I felt compelled to give him props. If Jack hadn't missed three 3's that he usually makes (especially the two transition ones), it would've been tough, however.

Gold - Diaw
Silver - Jack
Bronze - Thomas

Gold: Jax

Silver: Boris

Bronze: TT - man, just 1 more pt and he would have had a double double in his debut. I would have given him Silver if he got it. And 6 blks! Man played inspired for us. Jamison and Hickson did nothing for them tonight.

Gotta agree:

Gold: Boris- Fewer mistakes, and CONFIDENCE

Silver: Jack- Love seeing him score at will and take it at guys like Parker and Moon. He's the true matchup nightmare and why Cleveland wants no piece of us.

Bronze: Tyrus- He flew around the court like Crash. Hopefully he can do it night in and night out like Crash. 6 blocks is silly for a 24 minute debut.

Where is Jax you ask? I did this one based on expectations. Jax maybe scored a few more than I expected but he also turned it over more. The 3 above blew me away.

I said it in the game thread, I'll say it here too. PLEASE show up tomorrow night with the same intensity. PRETTY PLEASE.

3 - Diaw
2 - Jackson
1 - Thomas

If only Diaw could play this way every night. Great debut for Thomas too... I guess if you're as low-BBIQ as they say, he should play about the same regardless of the team! Still, great complement to our roster to pick up some shot blocking and rebounding at the PF position.

My only gripe is that Mohammed only played 15... he's shown he can play more, he's having the best season of his career and is clearly our best option at C, why wouldn't you do it?

He was pretty questionable for the game because of his back. Banging against Shaq probably wouldn't have been the best thing for him.

And since we play another game tomorrow, I think LB wanted to keep Nazr as fresh as possible.

Unexpected turn of events.

I can't fault the logic if Nazr's back is hurting him, but LB plays him that few minutes even when he's healthy. Once he's healed up I think he deserves minimum 20mpg.

Im not gonna give an order except Jackson 1st if pushed.

Jackson
Wallace
Thomas

In no order.
The reason I say this is as soon as Tyrus got into the game everything changed in the 2nd half. He started blocking shots, held Jamison to the donut held down Lebron there for a play and everybody was having fun and everytime he blocked a shot the players got excited and that made them happy and they played better, see D.J. and his very good 2nd half.

3: Diaw - This guy's ability to pass/create definitely gets overlooked at times. Dude was setting up teammates with open looks / easy baskets all night. Also looked confident in creating his own shot.

2: Jackson - Seemed like he was automatic from the floor last night. He had to have missed a ton of shots when I stepped out because I swear it felt like he wasn't missing anything.

1: Thomas - Stellar performance for a first game. Provided the team with a much needed energy boost following our last game.

HM: Augustin - like Jackson, dude looked automatic out there, and with confidence.
HM: Ratliff- far exceed any of my expectations. Hopefully he can keep it up.
HM: Wallace and Felton - also with solid games. Damn it feels good to have several guys playing well.

Gold - Diaw, great all around game

Silver - Jack, a few turnovers kept him out of the top spot

Bronze - DJ, great poise tonight and good shooting

HM - Ratlilf, came out and set the tone for our team with the first block of the night on Jamison. Also played great D vs Shaq while Naz struggled at times. Without Ratlif to give us solid minutes Diaw would have been defending shaq a lot last night.

HM - Thomas, great start but his best is yet to come. There will be nights he has 24, 12, and 5.

HM - Wallace great one on one D vs Lebron. They were really going at it last night.

Return to Charlotte Hornets
