Official Transaction Ideas thread

Post#1 » by 62245 » Thu Feb 18, 2010 11:14 pm

Post all your fantasy ideas about who the lakers should sign or trade for in the offseason here. If there is an official report linking the lakers to a player, feel free to create a new thread in the topic. otherwise, keep it in here.

- lakers mod team

do you think he is a possibility if the wizrds decide to waive him or buy him out? i think that the lakers could use some real front court help , even though they already have Bynum/Gasol after that they have....Odom ? he a good player but for the lakers to increase there chances at defending there title Big Z in my opinion would be a big help.

rotation now...
gasol/Bynum
gasol/odom
odom/ bynum
.....

rotation after signing
Gasol/bynum
gasol/odom
odom/ Z
Bynum/gasol

this would give bynum and gasol much more rest and be good to close out games at 100%

thoughts?

The choice is Z's and he might prefer working for a ring with Cleveland than ride coattails with us.

he would make the most versatile front court in the league just that much more versatile....

but yeah, he's going to the Cavs if bought out

i think it was an under the table deal already in place for z. the cavs probably assured him that if bought out they would resign him. the question is will the wizards help the cavs out by buying him out?
Only on realgm is 27,000 points, 5 rings, 1 rs mvp and 2 finals mvp considered overrated!

I love the Lakers for their class.

However, I sometimes wish they weren't so classy ...

... my point: I wish they would've used Fisher's expiring in the same manner the Cavs used Ilgauskus'.

Z will resign with the Cavs after a month off just as Fisher could have if he were traded.

All that being said, I love the Lakers for their character ... so I do understand.

If Cleveland sent 3 mill to the Wiz then it'd definitely be in for Z to be bought out... but they didn't.

Reasons to start praying they just hold onto Z to efff the Cavs:
- They are already UNDER the tax threshold now.
- They waived Skinner and traded McGuire so they are at 15 players now.
- And remember that is 15 players, of which only 13 can actually play due to suspensions.
- Only have 3 true bigs (McGee, Blatche, Oberto who has only played 10+ mpg 3x since New Yrs)
- They can keep Z around to teach the young bucks, McGee and Blatche, a thing or two
- They don't like Cavs from their recent history and Ferry tried to lowball them not giving up Hickson

(ok, now I'm just spitballin. one can hope can't he)

If Z isn't bought out he will either retire or just not report. If push comes to shove he'll probably give the Wiz a 40% buyout.

Good points though fivestar.

I don't think it has so much to do with class as it does that the team was unable to find a trading partner. Lakers are here to win another championship. If they can improve their team, they'd do it.

Right since Kirk Hinrich wasn't an improvement. It came down to cost, period, end of story. if they wanted to raise the budget even more they would have had him for expiring contracts.

theres really only 1 team that i hope is not readin this thread. (of course they wont) but if they took in Z, they will expand their size on the inside.

Denver could certainly improve improve with having a top shooter like Ilgauskas along with an athletic shot-blocker on the floor like Birdman.

Hello Laker fans!! Proposed trade...

Post#16 » by GSForever » Sun Feb 21, 2010 8:38 pm

Would you guys be interested in a deal with Bynum going to GS?? And the Lakers recieving Ellis and our top 3 pick this year??

Ellis and Bryant make an instoppable backcourt!! Plus maybe getting Wall or Turner to back them up??

GS recieves an outstanding young big to help our porous "D" and rebounding department...And Bynum gets the chance to show his offensive skill!!

It's a win-win trade scenerio for both teams!! Lakers win championship after championship and we get a chance to finally go to the postseason with some hope...

Yay or Nay??

Yay.

Not sure if Golden State would want to give up a high draft pick though.

Why don't you come up with a more civil comeback with our reasons for not wanting this trade?? Bryant will be retiring soon!! Plus you get a starting backcourt of maybe Ellis and Turner..
