Re: Joey Dorsey
Brockman is out for a few weeks so he's got time to prove himself

Smart money says he's the perfect PF/C for this team. Yes, I said it. I'd pay money to see the practices between Brockman and Dorsey.

Really? Do you think he can be the defensive presence in the paint that the Kings have been lacking? He's short, but so is Ben Wallace.

Re: Joey Dorsey
I hope he gets the chance. He lacks in certain areas, but he makes up for just about everything we currently lack and have no options other than Brockman to go to for. I didn't like him getting yanked so early, but that was Westphals fault for putting both he and Landry in there at the same time without even practicing with the team yet. The one game he got some real time in with Houston he pulled down 12 boards in 18 minutes. I just want to see a Brockman/Dorsey frontline at some point.

Re: Joey Dorsey
If you need a player who gets lost on defense, has no clue how to play offense, collects silly fouls like he's paid by the foul, who mistimes his blocks, who is so into the game he was late getting to scorers table when his name was called forcing team to use a timeout and who will really rebound, then yes,he can become a player for the Kings.
He will also be a player off the court, and supposedly has an affection for "Gentleman's Clubs".

Must be true, if it's a rumor you read on Hoopshype.

Re: Joey Dorsey
Even though this is Dorsey's 2nd season, it's more like his rookie season. He was injured after only 2 games and sat out most of the season. He had a very bad case of plantar fasciitis.
He was sent to the Rocket's NBDL affiliate Rio Grande Valley Vipers, last year, but the Rockets management had to take his passport away. He kept crossing the border to party. His work ethic problems seem have been resolved. He greatly improved his rebounding while in the NBDL.
He is very very short for PF. He measures only 6'6.25" with shoes and 6'7.25" with shoes, but has very long arms to make up for it. His standing reach is 8'11". He looks big, because of all the bulk that he has.

Re: Joey Dorsey
Truthfully I haven't really seen much of him since joining the Kings let alone when he played for HOU, but my early guess is there is a chance he sticks around if he plays tough
can we just get a new arena already...

Re: Joey Dorsey
He is a big dude.
Watched more of him in college and haven't seen him play much in the pros. I'm hoping he'll get the time to produce while Brockman is out.

I actually watched a few of his D-league games not too long ago on NBA-TV. He was beasting. I didn't remember him being that short though! hahaha.

Re: Joey Dorsey
Dorsey looked extremely good against Detroit. The momentum of the game changed when he came in. Of course, he was playing against another undersized C in been Wallace. Still, he is about the biggest 6' 8" guy I have ever seen.

Re: Joey Dorsey
Even though he's shorter than your average big, he was too good of a defensive player in college, and is too athletic, for him not to have a spot in the NBA - why not with us? He absolutely deserves a shot to show himself and get better.
This team needs a big man with the capabilities of Dorsey, and there isn't anybody like that on the team right now, nor has there been in the past.
Regardless, I see him being a key impact role-player in the NBA.

Re: Joey Dorsey
He is basically a bigger Brockman and every team does need a guy like him. But you only need 1 Brokman or Dorsey and 1 Udoka per team.
But to be honest Thompson had 8 rebounds and 4 blocks in 3 quarters last night. It is always funny to me when people won't give any respect to skinny guys. Durant is about the best young big man around and weighs less than 200 lbs. Nowitzki, Gasol, Duncan, DLee, and BLopez are all great skinny big men. None are bigger than Thompson.

Re: Joey Dorsey
Thompson is not skinny. He's 250 pounds.
